A totally rude and disinterested man on reception, my room was smoky [non-smoking!] cramped and noisy; the walls are paper thin. Looks nice on the photos, terrible in the flesh.

We stayed in the NH Deusto for a weekend break in December. On holiday were my wife, twelve year old daughter and me.
The hotel is situated at the edge of town, not too far from the Guggenheim Museum.
The rooms were functional but not really large enough for the three of us.
Rooms were a bit dated and probably in need of some renovation in the near future.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
As the hotel is on the fringe of the town and we were in sightseeing/shopping mode, we made use of the locals buses to get us to and from the hotel. These were plentiful and cheap.
In fact the public transport system is very good.
Bilbao is a great city to explore for a weekend. We also visited San Sebastian which was a fantastic treat.
Would definitely consider coming back to Bilbao. If we did, we would look at staying in a more central location.
Stayed here in a double room over the summer for five days and it was fab.
The room was a good size with a huge bed, air conditioned cleaned daily and plenty of fresh towels.
We added the continental breakfast option at the time of booking and it was quite good.
Plenty of meat and cheese and bread, croissants etc to start off the day, word of advice though get in early if the place is busy, but to be fair they did replenish a few bits when they ran out.
It was 15-20 mins walk to the old town, but it is a lovely walk along the river passed the Gugenheim.
One down side if I had to have one was the rubbish view of a central courtyard, but I didn't book the hotel for the view.
the rooms are very clean and modern, I would definetly advice it to my friends
The hotel is next to the Gugenhaim museum, the staff is very polite and professional.
The only negative side is that we ordered room service and it was very difficult to comunicate as pizzaria's staff did not speak english at all.
Well located hotel - you can walk to the rived in under 2 minutes - once you're at the river you can see the Guggenheim which I would estimate to be a 15 minute pleasant stroll along the river bank (there's lots of art works to see on the way). We didnt have breakfast at the hotel so can't comment on the food, they do have a vending machine that provides hot toasted sandwiches and mini bar drink prices are not too bad: approx 2.5 euro for a beer but the same for water or chocolate bar (i did manage to keep my moisturizer in there though so not useless). The room was spacious and modern - like most european hotels the double bed was 2 shoved together - but 2 queen size rather than singles which was nice. There was a flat screen tv - can't remember if they had english speaking channels as we only turned it on for about 10 minutes. The room also comes with a large hardback book that gives the history of Bilbao and surrounding areas - basically a very posh & useful tourist guide. Wifi is available in rooms but for a charge - free computer/internet access is available in the lobby. We can't comment on the bar, as during our Friday - tuesday stay we never once saw it open! (and we passed it at all hours of the day *and night). The bathroom was a good size and the pressure for the shower was fantastic, as well as the usual shampoo/shower gel they also provided a mini travel toothbrush & toothpaste & pack of tissues. I would say it's closer to Abandoibarra tram stop than Deusto Metro but has plenty of close by shops, supermarkets & pintxos bars. We would probably stay there again if going to Bilbao.
