Restaurant is not open on Saturday, so we had to go out for lunch and dinner in the rain. This is fine, but the corridor and room desires a lot. I dont think they have ever changed carpets in the corridor since the hotel was built! See pictures attached. Good front desk staff, but the GM never bothered to respond to my email.

The hotel is situated about 5 Kilometres outside of Bilbao in what is described elsewhere as an industrial area. I have to say that it is only light industry and you see little of it from the hotel. The road network around Bilbao can be confusing as it is a very hilly outside the city centre. It can therefore be difficult to find the hotel initially, as my sat nav did not have the address, and the local spellings can be difficult. The hotel has free car parking, whilst not advertised as secure it did not appear an area where there may be a concern.
The hotel reception is bright airy and cheerful. The staff spoke English and were pleasant.
The rooms were a good size including the bathroom, which also had a bath. They were very clean but maybe in need a little TLC. The beds were comfortable and all linen changed and beds made daily.
Breakfast is available at 12Euros; we did not have it so I cannot comment.
There is a local bar next door which serves food but again we did not use it. There are a couple of bars/ restaurants about 500 metres away.
There is a bus directly outside the hotel into Bilbao at a cost of 1.2Euros it is about every 40 minutes and runs until about 10.00pm at night.
We used the hotel for 2 nights prior to taking our car on the ferry. Because of its location there seem a lot of deals and we got 2 nights for 76.00 Euros with free parking. Everywhere else in Bilbao charges for parking and there is little on street parking available.
For our purposes we found the hotel ideal value for money.

Chose this place as we had an early evening arrival and also an early morning departure from BIO (so did 2 stays). Stay were very friendly and fixed a reservation error (preserving our low promotional rate). Room was comfortable (got the same one twice) but in a bit of a rough shape (walls need repair an painting) but by no means off-putting. Members of the Sol Melia frequent stayer program get free breakfast for a partner (reasonable at that price and a pretty good meal). Free parking is certainly an attraction.

Although this hotel is outside of city center and in a somewhat industrial area, it was perfect! Parking is free, reception is very friendly and helpful, and restaurant dinner was very good; however a bit spendy. There are local restaurants close by or eat in town before returning to the hotel. The hotel bar could be improved. Our room was very nice. We took the city bus into the center; very easy and inexpensive. Under similar circumstances, we would stay here again. We would probably not stay here if we had to get back to the airport, but we had our own car.
