We weren't expecting luxury, given the price, but this hotel was still very disappointing. Other than being extremely hard to find - and equally hard to figure out how to get into the driveway! - this hotel really has only one redeeming feature - it's near the airport.

The rooms haven't been painted in YEARS and are badly beat up. The fridge has to be turned on by the front desk. The restaurant was "closed until September" and there is nothing else for miles other than a very inadequate little place right next door (the food there was tolerable, at best).

It seemed reasonably clean, though, and although the bathroom was very small, the shower was nice enough.

I was a solo traveller with a hire car.
It says Sondika but you have to leave Sondika (under the bridge for another half K - if travelling from the east) to see the high-rise sign.
There is free parking - it's not obvious but you have to drive accross the brick area in front of the hotel to get to it.
I've read the other reviews and yes, the carpet in the landing is well worn. In fact the whole place could be classed as little weary and perhaps a lick of paint would make a difference if you are occupied about these things. I thought it all hung together reasonably well, Everything worked, from the shower to the in-room safe, and was clean.
Didn't eat there.
The in-house bar was closed on my night there but there is a bar/restaurant almost next door which I went to for a final beer (or two) - looked ok, but judgement was possibly a little fuzzy by this time.
It's a E15 taxi ride (each way) to Bilbao town centre for all the entertainment you could want. I went to the Guggenheim - E8. I suggest worth the money even if you're not normally interested in that sort or art.
If you are returning a hire car the next day - as I was - turn right out of the hotel, it's about 10mins drive (all signposted) and there's a petrol station on the way to fill up. Stay alert though, at one point you join a motorway for only about 200yds before turning off again ....lord knows where you'll end up if you drift past that....

Restaurant is not open on Saturday, so we had to go out for lunch and dinner in the rain. This is fine, but the corridor and room desires a lot. I dont think they have ever changed carpets in the corridor since the hotel was built! See pictures attached. Good front desk staff, but the GM never bothered to respond to my email.

The hotel is situated about 5 Kilometres outside of Bilbao in what is described elsewhere as an industrial area. I have to say that it is only light industry and you see little of it from the hotel. The road network around Bilbao can be confusing as it is a very hilly outside the city centre. It can therefore be difficult to find the hotel initially, as my sat nav did not have the address, and the local spellings can be difficult. The hotel has free car parking, whilst not advertised as secure it did not appear an area where there may be a concern.
The hotel reception is bright airy and cheerful. The staff spoke English and were pleasant.
The rooms were a good size including the bathroom, which also had a bath. They were very clean but maybe in need a little TLC. The beds were comfortable and all linen changed and beds made daily.
Breakfast is available at 12Euros; we did not have it so I cannot comment.
There is a local bar next door which serves food but again we did not use it. There are a couple of bars/ restaurants about 500 metres away.
There is a bus directly outside the hotel into Bilbao at a cost of 1.2Euros it is about every 40 minutes and runs until about 10.00pm at night.
We used the hotel for 2 nights prior to taking our car on the ferry. Because of its location there seem a lot of deals and we got 2 nights for 76.00 Euros with free parking. Everywhere else in Bilbao charges for parking and there is little on street parking available.
For our purposes we found the hotel ideal value for money.
