“hotel on the quay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Good hotel in the center of Bilbao on the river`s quay. I staied for one night. There is pedestrian bridge In the front of the hotel. You can use it to go walking in the Old Town or any museums. It takes 15 minutes to go in the hotel from airport by car. You can use hotel`s garage for your car. The room isn`t new, but it was comfortable. Bed is good. Bathroom is clean. all services work good. Staff is very helpful. Breakfast is not bad. Good price for this hotel.

“Perfect Location Great Value”

This hotel is locted in a lovely residential area facing the Nervion River. It is a 10 minute walk to the Guggenheim Museum and 15 minutes in the other direction to the Old Town.
Our room, 201, was spacious, immaculate, tastefully furnished. The marble bathroom was also spotless and spacious .The entry hall had a desk on which we could place our laptop ( free internet ) and coffeemaker that you have to ask for and they are happy to bring it up.We had breakfast in a cafe around the corner for 5 Euros for the both of us; rather than the 12 Euro @ breakfast buffet at the hotel.
The only complaint: we could hear the plumbing from the adjacent room. Fortunately, it was vacant most of the days we were there !
.

Room Tip: Ask for an exterior room. Ours ( 201 ) was a corner room---terrific ! )

“Good hotel near DT Bilbao”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

Echoing the last three posts, I agree with their positive remarks. I would add the English fluency of the desk clerks and the personnel in the bar/restaurant was decent, which is appreciated though not necessarily expected in Bilbao.

I stayed at the Conde Duque for several nights during a recent study tour of the Basque Country. Very clean and efficient. Excellent location right across the canal from the Guggenheim. Free wifi. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Nice little restaurant. Good value.

“Excellent location near Guggenheim”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

We rolled in to town and did not have hotel reservations. We stumbled upon the Best Western Conde Duque and were very happy that we did. The room price was affordable (less than 100 euro). The bed was very comfortable. The room had a modern classy decor. The staff was nice and helpful. Since we had a car, we needed parking (which is very difficult to find in Bilbao). The receptionist gave us directions to the hotel parking garage (a little more expensive than we wanted to pay) and also explained the various color codes for the curbs nearby. One color (blue I think) indicated that parking was free until 9am. We were hoping to find a spot with a blue curb line before we reached the parking garage. As we were pulling away, the receptionist ran after us to tell us that his favorite spot, just 10-meters from the entrance of the hotel, was vacant! We would have never noticed, and then likely driven to the garage and paid 16 euro. Needless to say, we were very happy to save the money - thanks to the hotel receptionist. Anyway - we enjoyed our stay at the Best Western. It was across the street from the bridge designed by Calatrava and a 7 minute walk to the Guggenheim.

Room Tip: All rooms seemed to be the same
