I just returned last from Oviedo last night. I take students from the United States to Oviedo for them to stay with families to learn Spanish at a local school from the middle of June until the middle of July. I have stayed for a total of 4 weeks at the Hotel Carreño in the past two years. My stay at the Carreño is always pleasurable, not only for the cozy and clean rooms that I always get, but also for the wonderful and casual talks that I always have with the staff. They are knowledgeable, helpful and all around good professionals. Breakfast is very good and ample, and I specially like their coffee. Hotel Carreño is central and walking distance to everywhere. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great place, near city centre. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Breakfast is not much varied but good enough. Staff was also very helpful. Recommended placed!

We were very pleased with this Hotel. The rooms were very clean; the bathroom although small had a half size bath, sink, bidet and toilet. The hotel staff was friendly and the continental included breakfast especially the coffee was good. The hotel was near the train and bus stations but there was no noise. The old town was about a 15 min walk away with lots of bars and restaurants, we found the food and drink overall to be of excellent value and taste. We would recommend this hotel and city to anyone.

I have visited the Hotel Carreno four times in the past two years due to taking part in an exchange trip with students. Both myself and the students found the hotel very central i.e. train station 2 mins walk, bus station 5 mins. The hotel staff are very welcoming and understood our attempts to speak the language! The hotel is rated 2 star i think, however it is more like 3-4 star in my opinion. If you are looking for a comfortable hotel, central to everything with a very nice atmosphere, i can recommend this hotel!! I'm going back for a 5th time in March!!
