We stayed at the AC Forum Oviedo October 13-17, 2011 while in Oviedo for a dear friend's wedding. It was a wonderful experience!

The hotel staff is friendly and helpful, providing great information about what to do, see, eat, and drink while in the city.

The rooms are clean and nicely decorated in a minmalist style with neutral colors. The beautiful green marble bathroom is quite spacious with separate toilet/bidet. toothbrush, razor, and shoe shine kits are provided in addition to the usual shampoo, shower gel, soap, and body lotion. The minibar - stocked with water, soft drinks, and beer - is provided free of charge. The first floor fitness center includes machines, weights, sauna, complimentary water and extra towels. There are two computers available for guest use in the lobby along with wifi service for a fee.

If you do not have a car, the AC Forum is especially convenient:
* It is a few blocks from the Alsa Bus Station which has a direct bus that runs every hour between 6:00 and 23:00 to/from the Asturias Airport (http:www.alsa.es).
* There is a Mercadona grocery store in the same building - great for picking up snacks and breakfast.
* The hotel sits above the train station (still, the rooms are quiet), providing easy access to train routes (FEVE and RENFE) for day trips.
* The hotel sits at one end of the Calle Uria - a main street through Oviedo - convenient for walking.

This is a business hotel geared to weekly business travellers. We stayed over a weekend and found minimal staff on hand.

The hotel wasn't the easiest to locate with our GPS system - the reason being that it is built on top of a railway station. The rooms are minimalist in design, however the room was comfortable, the free minibar was a plus, however the lack of a free internet service was a little disappointing.

The key is to understand that this hotel is designed for the business market. As mentioned it is minimalist in its decor which tends to create a rather cold atmosphere. To its favour the hotel was well located, particularly if you are travelling by train. It is within easy walking distance of the key attractions in Oviedo.

The breakfast buffet was rather expensive and a little lacking in choice.

Overall, we thought the rating would largely depend upon the price paid for the room. If you have to pay "full price" then I think there are probably better selections. Based on the rate we paid, we would have lifted our rating a notch, if the service and the buffet had been better.

The location of the hotel is very good right next to the old city. Due to the fact that the hotel is in a complex with a train station beneath it, be aware that one side of the hotel is facing railroads and from our experience it is very disappointing to see this view each day.
Overall it was good but the room was a little bit disappointing

Tipical Hotel from AC group, nice comfortable and with a good price for a 5* hotel.
Breakfast variety is not the best and it is expensive. (20€)
No free wi fi. ( 5 € 1hour, 12 € 24 hours)
Free minibar.
Cheap and good quality restaurant. (10 to 20€ without drinks).
Well located in the center of Oviedo next to the train station.
