Located on a plaza over the railway station - there are also escalators to/from street level on the main drag - approximately 300 metres from the bus station and literally next to a Mercadona supermarket (9.15-9.15; closed Sundays). A short walk to bars, shopping and the sights of the old town. My high floor room had views across Oviedo; the small size you expect in Europe, but enough floor and storage space unless you're Ivana Trump. The only serious omission is a safe. Complimentary minibar containing soft drinks and a couple of beers. Fair sized bathroom with everything you need except face flannels. The housekeeping staff kept the place very clean while I was there.
Didn't try room service because I'm averse to being charged €10 for a bowl of soup, but a decent menu if you're stuck, albeit only until 23.30, when the restaurant closes. After that a shorter, basic menu. Dinner in the restaurant was nice but quite expensive at €33 for two courses and mineral water. English menu if you need it.
The small bonus from a Marriott perspective is free wifi in the lobby beside reception; make the most of that before Marriott HQ finds out and shoots someone for trying to catch up to the rest of the industry.
