Old stone house with a chapel renovated and turned into a small B&B.
It seems family-run and the lady who welcomed us was extremely kind and willing to give us tips and advice on Gijon and the area.
Negative aspects:
- location. It makes no sense to stay in Deva if your intention is to visit Gijon. The hotel it is supposedly 3km away but the road is not easy to find and even if you get it right it takes 25mins by car from the centre of Gijon. If you are looking for a countryside, isolated hotel, this is not the right choice as it is in a town. The garden is big but not huge and not secluded, there is no swimming pool, so reallly not much to do in the hotel itself.
- Our double room was EUR 120 per night, which we found quite expensive given the room and location (eg we stayed in the Palacio re Rubianes for EUR 125 and that hotel is way better than this one!!)
- The double room was clean and functional but no air conditioning (we slept with the balcony door open) and small bathroom which didn't look very new
Positives
- breakfast home made, wide selection and tasty
- welcoming receptionist, very professional and helpful
