There are three Begona Hotels in Gijon: Centro, Park and Playa. We stayed at Centro on Avenida de la Costa. We did our homework before going and tried to work out which hotel would be best placed for all we wanted to see and do, and we weren't disappointed with our choice. We took a taxi from Asturias airport, but there's a bus service every hour from the airport and the hotel is just a short walk from the bus station. The Begona Centro is quite a large hotel and has many amenities - a restaurant, cafe, bar, room service etc - and we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The rooms aren't large but are comfortable and perfectly adequate. Our room was at the front of the hotel so we were above the main road with a view to the park (Jardines de Begona). We thought traffic noise would be a problem but the rooms are fitted with what I can only describe as concertina-type wooden screens that close over the recessed windows, completely blocking out noise and light! The hotel is on a corner and is surrounded by cafes, restaurants and the cider houses typical of the region. I would definitely stay here again.
