Not one of the nicer paradores. Location is lovely on the corner of the park although a hike to the beach and a long walk to the Plaza Mayor and old town where many of the restaurants are. Breakfast is basic for a parador. Staff are hit and miss -- some helpful, some almost dismissive. Rooms small and dark. Shutters keep out noise well. A bit difficult to find driving due to one way streets. Ok for a day or two but not for a longer holiday. Abnormally expensive but maybe due to ITU Duathlon World Champs on that week.

Visited Gijon last year when we one of our children on exchange before travelling into mountains. Delighted with this small relaxing Parador located in lovely park. Nice walk to beach. Gijon has a great beach. We stayed 2 nights. Didn't eat in so can not comment on dinner. Breakfast was good with made to order eggs. We ate out locally in evening and tried famous cider.

Pleasantly situated within walking distance of the beach and old town. Lovely park behind the hotel with friendly ducks and geese!
Good restaurant serving a good selection of regional foods.
Our room was spacious , clean and comfortable.
The hotel has a car park although this is quite small.

A decent hotel on outskirts of Gijon near a delightful park and excellent beach. Room pleasant and well equipped but a bit dark - only glow worm light bulbs that made reading difficult!

Staff very helpful and in the restaurant, a delight. Dinner was excellent and set a superb standard. Go for the dessert with the 4 tastes of the parador!

One of the more expensive paradors however and we probably wouldn't go back. Parking available but beware the one way systems!
