“Clean, central, quiet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2011

My wife and I paid 42 EUR (breakfast included) for one night in a double bedroom in this hotel. Our overall experience with the hotel was very satisfactory: the room was very clean, and although central it is very quiet. The bedroom was admittedly small (just enough space for the bed!) but was well equipped: flat screen TV, central heating, and free wifi. The breakfast is very simple and may disappoint some travellers: just some (not very good) coffee and orange juice with croissant and cereals. Finally, the location is very good: just a few blocks away from the Basilica del Pilar and the 'Tubo', which is the tapas bars area in Zaragoza. Given the tram works in the city, reaching the hotel from the train station entails a bus plus some walking from the bus stop.

Room Tip: Rooms in the back are perhaps quieter than rooms facing the street.

“Pleasant, helpful staff, basic commodities.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2011

We came to this hotel as a second option based upon recommendations in Lonely Planet. There is a MESS of construction going on in town and it took over 1 hour to find this place due to all the road closures. If youŕe not used to Spanish streets, basically,... if thereś a street sign, assume itś a street even if people are walking and it looks more like a sidewalk.

The staff was friendly and helpful and spoke English. Secured Parking is very convenient for 12Euros and located just under the hotel. The room is basic. We were in Room 206 and it reminded me of U.S. Super 8. Clean and sufficient. To turn the lights on, you must keep your key card inserted into the wall unit as you come in. Remove it and you have maybe 2 minutes before electricity goes out in your unit.

This place has A\C, however, ours didnt work and we were too exhau sted from the driving and arriving late to be bothered complaining about it. We just opened the window. Bathroom was sufficient with toilet and Biday. Breakfast is included. It was unfortunately atrocicious for us but maybe others liked it better. Doughy croissants and muddy coffee, toast and butter or jam and orange juice.

Positives: friendly staff, central location to Basilica, shopping, other sites, economically priced at 60Euros on a Wednesday, Free WiFi in room, about 10 channels on the T.V., nearby and private parking

Negatives: check that air conditioning works in your room, difficult to find (look for the signs they´ve posted)

Spotless, well located and helpful staff!! Quiet if you ask for a back room. We had room #2 which was the largest with a queen size bed and private terrace. All this for 50 Euros.

“Better than expected”

Very good hotel among the category of 2*(perhaps too good for this category =). I paid 42 euro for a single room(bed for 2 persons). Clean large rooms, air-conditioner, TV, excellent bath equipment, Rio Arga bath set, etc. In the very centre of Zaragoza, just a few meters away from main Cathedral.
The people at reception were very friendly.
I booked a room without breakfast, so I don't know if they have it or no. Nevertheless, it's not a problem - there are lots of cafe around.
The only weak point - rather far from the railway station.

  • Liked — centre of city
  • Disliked — far from bus to railway station
