Booked the wheelchair accessible room here en route from Santander to Javea. It was difficult to find as all the roads in the area have been dug up and rerouted (most of them seem to go around this hotel) so,even with sat nav it took us 4 attempts to find it. The hotel is run down though was obviously nice in a former life. The receptionist spoke good English but paid no interest in us whatever after check in. I was travelling with my partner (a T1 paraplegic) and my dog. No assistance or even a trolley was offered to help us up to our second floor bedroom. The room was clean and quite well set out and the bathroom had been adapted for wheelchairs. Unfortunately, the toilet was almost unusable for someone in a wheelchair as the fixed floor standing grabrail was on the wrong side of the toilet. However, my partner is long experienced in these problems and was just about able to manage with my help.
We ate our evening meal in the restaurant where some of the tables were set out in a row in front of the TV so that the lorry drivers could watch the football match. The food was simple but good, especially the soup. Breakfast, however, was a different matter. Served until 10 am we arrived at 9.45. We went to the dining room to find it shut. I asked the barman where we should eat breakfast and he waved us into the bar. He offered no advice on what to do so we ordered tea and we looked in the 2 baskets on the bar. One contained large sugary croissants and the other churros. We ordered one of each - both were completely dry and inedible - there wasn't even any butter or jam to put on the croissants and the churros were crisp, dry and like cardboard. The barman was obviously a mute as he did not speak one word to us the whole time we were there!
Needless to say, the hotel has not been added to our list of en route stopovers.
