Hotel Oriente looks great from the outside but the service was poor and beyong caring. We were driving and knew that they did not have a car park so we double parked outside and I ran in to find out about parking and also for help with our bags ( there were three people travelling). One of the reception staff said that we could park outside and bring our bags in but as we were doing this, the porter screamed and shouted rudely and waved his hands and started to move our bags away and we soon found out there was a bus load of people coming(which never turned up!) and we couldn't park outside and nor was he going to help us. Now suddenly the reception staff didn't want to assist us either. My friend and I ended up being the hotel's bell hops, bringing out the trolley and packing up our luggage and taking it up to our room! I would not normally mind about my bags but the rudeness and disorganisation made it that much worse. Luckily we were only staying one night. The rooms were at least clean and the location was good but I would not return in a hurry.

Visited the oriente for 3 nights Dec 03/jan 04 and will be returning this year (05). Recently refurbished the decor and room size are impressive for a hotel only rated 3 star. Staf are friendly and the best thing of all the location is EXCELLENT! Just around the corner from the Basilica and the centre of Zaragoza is on your doorstep!
