“Just fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 April 2011

Amazing. I looked at a number of hotels in Zaragoza prior to booking and absolutely made the right choice. The rooms are very modern with excellent quality furniture. The restaurant is relaxed, and the food was varied and delicious.
This trip was business, but I'm now planning a return visit in the summer with my family. I can't wait to use the roof top swimming pool.

Room Tip: The higher the better (less road noise)

“Very comfortable hotel. Beds and pillows to die for!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2011

Really nice hotel and at the price we paid excellent value! Location was excellent. Rooms clean, comfortable, large enough. And the beds - best night sleep for a while. Pillows were super soft & lots of them. Wish I was there now!! Room service wasn't up to much nor the bar/restaurant area downstairs. And they haven't got a movie channel yet - but I believe it's coming. Local pizza place delivered - and was fantastic!! (we were just too tired to go out!). Very bland decor - but was perfect for us on that day.

“Very Good hotel -- very close to perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2010

Very nice entrance with lots of modern art touches. Reception nice if a bit lacking in English (my problem not theirs). After a moderately long walk to elevators, I found my room. Room? More an apartment with entrance hall, living room, bedroom and bath. (This may have been an upgrade -- but the desk staff didn't mention it).

The hotel appears brand new. I stayed around the middle of October, 2010, and learned the hotel had opened just a few weeks before. I think I was the first guest in my room. A little sawdust and a couple of ill fitting switch covers hastened this conclusion.

But, what a room! A real living room with sectional sofa, desk and TV. Separate bedroom with another TV. Huge bath with separate toilet. Very nice and modern design.

Hotel restaurant/bar again was nicely decorated. Breakfast was decent but not unusual. Cocktail hour found the lounge filled, oddly, with much older patrons. Bar seating though comfortable was in a shadow from the restaurant and dark.

Location of the hotel is excellent. A short and interesting walk to the cathedral (and other sights) in one direction and an even closer walk to the main shopping avenue in the other.

I believe this hotel is under same ownership as the Palofax, so I suspect service issues will be remedied shortly.

Not sure if this review should be linked to the existing one as this hotel is new. Nonetheless, come to Zaragoza to stay at the Alfonso.

“Cannot get to this hotel by car”

If you are planning to arrive to this hotel by car, look elsewhere. You cannot park close to this hotel, so unless you are interested in carrying your luggage from your car to the hotel for a couple of blocks, you should not book this hotel.
