“Ok, good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2011

This is a more business oriented hotel, but it is not far from the sights or shopping. The area is a little sketchy, and there was a lot of noise from the neighbors in the back (our room was in the back toward other buildings, and we heard all the fighting and family discussions).

The rooms were clean, and somewhat small, but it is up to european standards. The price was great so it is a good value for your money.

Only thing to watch out for, the tv sets give you 5 free seconds of porn (without a warning), which was not pleasant when traveling with young children.....

Room Tip: Take the street side instead of the back

“Not bad.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 March 2010

Room way too hot and a bit small. Staff very attentive and looked after all the little extras very well. Bar service slow. Whole hotel nice, clean and shiny and an excellent big breakfast of all denominations. Very good location, though some may be disturbed by traffic noise, if in a front facing room - don't expect any good views whatsoever! Would stay there again. Helpful front desk staff.

“Mixed feelings”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 April 2008

Stayed in the Hesperia for four nights in March. First impressions were not favourable. The hotel is in a street populated by an immigrant community of what seems to be mainly men, and this would feel slightly imtimidating for a lone female on arrival but quickly got used to this and had no problems with coming and going whatsoever. The reception area is very small looking onto an open-plan bar area which wasn`t inviting and had uncomfortable seating. However, all the staff were very friendly and welcoming and the room was clean and comfortable. Our room looked out onto the back of apartments and the noise was intolerable. We couldn`t change rooms as the hotel was full, being Easter. The walls of the hotel are worse than paper thin, with all that entails !! and the residents of the apartments opposite ate, drank and were merry til three o`clock every night. The guests in the hotel on our visit were 100% Spanish and their evenings ended at a similar hour. Didn`t get one good nights sleep. The breakfast was faultless, hot and cold and plenty of it with very attentive staff. Also, the hotel is in a good location, 10 mins. walk to wonderful shopping streets and the all important historic quarter. Unfortunately I cannot reccommend this hotel to anyone who wants peace and quiet after a day of sightseeing but I would stay there again.

“Really dodgy area around hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2007

This Hesperia is located in a dangerous part of Zaragoza. Although it is only ten minutes walk from the tourist centre of town, it is located in a run down area. Don't be fooled by the website which says that it is located in the centre. This is not correct. We found out that there are many other hotels located in the tourist area which are much cheaper and in good safe streets. Beware of this hotel. Also, it is not cheap either. The car park is 10 euros. If you choose not to use it, be prepared to spend hours looking for a parking space in these dark dodgy streets.

“Sleepless nights”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 June 2007

I had a bad experience here because of the noise. The hotel is situated in not a particularly good area with a large number of immigrants. At night, a lot of shouting goes on which carries on throughout the night, every night. As soon as the sun went down, I didn't feel it was safe to go out. There is also a problem with noise within the hotel because the walls are very thin. A neighbouring guest decided to have a shower at 3 am and, what with the constant shouting coming from the street, it was impossible to sleep.

It is sad that I can't recommend this hotel because, if it wasn't for the things I have just mentioned, it would be an excellent hotel -far better than its 3 star rating. The rooms are very spacious and the bathroom is excellent. The staff are friendly and I had a good breakfast in the bright and spacious breakfast room. The hotel also provide free WIFI internet access. But after three sleepless nights, all these good things meant nothing. I will never go back there again.
