The rooms are well decorated, modern, large comfortable bed (with duvets). Breakfast served in basement room - simple but good and fresh continental style.
Complicated parking. Underground carpark, entrance before you see hotel - but easy to go around block to get back to it. Two buzzers to press. One at entrance before ramp - then you follow signs underground to hotel parking area (past residential park area), where there is another buzzer which raises large door to the hotel car parking (lift takes you up to hotel).
Having read the previous reviews for the hotel, I would say that the recent negative ones are being unrealistic. This is a 3 star hotel - but for those who stay frequently in Spanish hotels will know that even 5 star hotels can lack facilities that in other countries you would expect for that standard (gyms, coffee bars, conceirge, room service etc). The star rating more reflects the grandeur and location of the hotel more than anything else. The hotel is in a residential area, but is only a 20min walk right into the heart of the tourist attractions, or a 10min walk to the Aljaferia (which has a nice park for an early morning walk). The positive of the location is that if you want a coffee it costs 1.10euro in any of the local bars/coffee shops - you can get a pastry and a coffee for less than 2euros - try getting prices like that next to the Basilica!
