“Very enjoyable stay.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

This hotel was a great value. It is a beautiful old building in a very convenient location. We originally booked for 6 nights and ended up staying 14 nights. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and quite roomy. We also had a very large private terrace.
Due to the historical design of the building with an open atrium up the center and everything being tile and granite sound did echo thru the halls a bit, but not an issue as we were some of the only guest during most of our stay. Beds were quite firm. The room could also be a little cool at times as the only heat was from a high mount ac/heating unit. Probably not an issue for most of the year. TV was older but also not an issue as I didn't come to Spain to watch re-runs. Much better entertainment just steps outside your door. So all in all a basic hotel that provides everything one really needs in a pleasant, friendly and economical environment.

Room Tip: The 3rd floor triple room is much larger than most others with an oversize bathroom and terrace.

“Enjoyed staying here plus great location”

Really good location - a lovely 15 min walk to the Cathedral through cobbled maze of streets (signposted well) and 15 min walk to main train station (plenty of cabs and buses if you don't want to walk). Hotel has lovely courtyard inside, like an atrium, and is open plan with rooms up round the sides of it. Rooms very nice though basic - we had a nice balcony too. There's a bit of noise from about 9am as you can hear people talking in the 'courtyard' inside the hotel and also there's a bit of street noise now and again. But I'm a light sleeper and the noise level was OK for me. Staff could not have been more helpful - gave us loads of directions, gave us extra pillows as soon we asked etc etc. There's no fridge in the room but the receptionists will store your stuff in their fridge if you ask. Best thing about this hotel? Just at the end of the same street is the best Seville tapas bar called El Rinconcillo (oldest tapas bar there and is well known). Food and drinks (especially Rioja) great! Try the arroz (rice), the pigs' cheeks and the croquettes - lovely! They write the prices of what you had on the bar in chalk in front of you and then tot it up at the end when you want to pay. Great atmosphere - we went in every day when we walked past it from the hotel!

Room Tip: Ask for high room with sunny balcony

“The best acco during The Best of Spain Intrepid tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

This hotel was just great. It is clean, the rooms are comfortable, the staff are friendly and helpful, the location is perfect, just one street of the main part of town and no noise. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Seville. I was so relaxed at this hotel that I managed to take a breath, and relax the pace.

“Could be a great hotel but needs updating”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

We stayed at this hotel on the last two nights of our southern Spain trip. The building is charming and has great bones, but it is very dated and in desperate need of a complete remodeling. It seems like the owners have forgotten about it. The vending machines may be convenient but they are not something that should be seen in a lobby, especially next to such a beautiful staircase. The lobby has a great iron gate that you walk thru when you are buzzed in. It is a 3 story atrium, with columns and arches. Very nice. There is lovely courtyard off the lobby (which I think would make a great breakfast area). The hotel desk staff were pleasant, spoke English, and were very helpful. There are two computers that are free to use. Our room was on the top floor and had a large terrace with partial views. It had three twin beds, a chair, and two closets. No safe. The bathroom was huge, clean but with thin and scratchy towels that didn't match. A hair dryer available from the front desk. Both mornings we had trouble with hot water. Not only was the water not hot but there was no pressure at all! Then it would come and go. We alerted the front desk and it was solved soon but it delayed getting out to the sites. And then the same thing happened the next morning. Oy vey. That said, the hotel has a great location; about a 12 minute walk to the cathedral area and most sites. It was just a few blocks from one of the most fantastic things we saw in Spain: the Space Metropol Parasol. It is not even mentioned in the guide books and is a must see! We happened upon it while wondering back to the hotel late at night. Dramatically lit at night, we were dumbstruck. The next day we took the tour where you walk across the top. It was fantastic. And, it is built over Roman ruins. We loved it. Anyway, we enjoyed our stay at the Don Pedro, and would probably stay there again, especially if they redid the place.

Room Tip: Get a suite if you can.

“Lovely Hostal”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

We stayed here as part of the Intrepid Tour Group package so have no idea what was paid for our stay however we stayed on a Fri and Sat night and keeping that in mind the location was fantastic. We were situated very close to a whole group of tapas bars which were very much alive and buzzing on the nights that we were there. The main street which holds all sorts of shopping, food and entertainment was a 5 minute walk from the hotel. There are a bunch of cafes within walking distance to pick up baked goods and other snacks during the day, a supermarket (great if staying a few days for fruits and snacks) about 7 minute walk. The hotel itself was secure (they have a huge iron gate which you have to buzz in through), clean and comfortable. The lobby is exactly as the other pictures that have been posted. They offer free internet in the lobby and a coffee/tea machine which was nice. I stayed in a room which I think was meant for two people so I found it to be just fine in terms of space - maybe a bit cramped for two larger sized adults. There is maid service everyday which provides fresh towels. My first impression of Seville was that an American/Canadian driver would have some troubles in the alleyways here - quite tight! If staying here, I would reccomend not to rent a vehicle b/c everything is close by and parking appears to be challenging in the narrow alleyways! To summarize if you are looking for luxury this is not your place but if you are looking for a clean, comfortable, cozy place to call home whilst you explore this incredible city - this place is a good place to stay! One of the most amazing things we did in Seville was see the following flamenco performance - go check these guys out - incredible: Casa de la Memoria!
