“perfect in the offseason”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

We took a small chance on the location and room (one facing the small plaza containing many tables) and have no regrets Nov 3-5 we had the top corner room (not a suite) with 3 floor-to- ceiling shuttered windows, just beautiful! And possibly unlike the more desired months, it was perfectly quiet at night. Our quite spacious room had a complete wardrobe closet with drawers and two separate clothes racks; clean tiled floors; large comfortable bed.....it was so pleasant. The hotel is nestled on the extreme edge of Santa Cruz bounding a double wide avenue of traffic and fronting rows of umbrella'd tables, an area of concrete covering a parking garage and beyond that a lovely garden with tall palms, acacia, yew.... All of that is the view from the windows in front. The side looks down on a brief street where there are some delectable fresh churros every morning) connecting the park and the barrio, . There begins the warren of streets where restaurants abound. We enjoyed Cava Europa around the corner a number of times. This hotel is highly recommended for the sum payed.

Room Tip: In early November, you can't go wrong with the top corner room.

“excellent choice for seeing Seville”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

The location and hotel exceeded our expectations. It has lots of charm, is on a square with lots of restaurants, in the popular Santa Cruz neighborhood, easy walk to all the sights. Very close to Los Gallos Flamenco which is one of the less expensive choices but still very well recommended. They listened to our request for a view which turned out to be a room looking down at the plaza – nice view but potential for a lot of noise. As it turned out, the double windows and AC blocked the noise and we had a very restful night.
Hotel was a bit more complicated to locate than we anticipated. From the direction we were traveling, it was located on the left side of a 4 lane road. Fortunately we spotted the large letters of the golden colored hotel as we drove by the small street and we drove farther until we could turn around. The hotel is on a tiny street with residence only parking. It’s much easier if you just go into the parking garage right off the main road and in front of the hotel and then go to check in.

Room Tip: If you’re really concerned about noise, ask for an inside room.

“Great value, good location, clean and comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2011

I made a flying mid-week visit to Seville with a friend last week to enjoy a night out, and to check out the impressive Metropol Parasol.
Mid week in September (Seville's high season) can be an expensive time to travel and leaving it late there were few options for less that 80 euros - a very very tight budget for this city.
But the Doña Manuela was excellent. It certainly isn't fancy and it doesn't have much charm the rooms are renovated in a bland, contemporary style with limited furniture and detailing. But the place is very clean, comfortable and the bathrooms were excellent too. Yes, there are more charming places if you spend more, but at this price point the hotel I believe is a really good option.
My room was overlooking the terrace with thick wooden shutters that blocked out the light and reduced street noise, so I slept well.
The location is great, especially if you are coming by car as I was, as there is a public undergroudn car park right next door, that cost about 27 euro a night and there were no narrow streets to negotiate to arrive - straight off a main road into the quiet square and into the car park.
From the hotel all the sights are in easy walking distance. It's on the edge of the Santa Cruz district, but it is worth walking a little away from the bars immediately around the hotel, as these are quite touristy and you will soon discover some authentic places to enjoy wines, beers and tapas.

“It was OK but would not stay for the second time.”

Based on one night experience.

Pros:
1. Excellent location.
2. Our room was very beautifully decorated as well as the hotel itself.
3. Very clean.
4. Air conditioners work independently in each room.
5. Public parking by the entrance to the hotel. This is very important in Seville.

Contras:
1. There is no refrigerator with a mini-bar inside a room.
2. We got a room on the second floor above a restaurant. When a balcony door is open, the room becomes noisy and smells are coming from the restaurant. When the door is closed, this is not a problem at all.

Room Tip: If travel by car, enter "Cano y Cueto 7A" into your GPS and look for a public parking en...

“Good Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. Location is very central and within walking distance to all the main sites. Airport bus stop at Av de El Cid is a 15 minute stroll to the hotel.

Hotel room quite small but not a problem. Main thing was that it was clean and comfortable. Showered in the evening as there was never any hot water in the mornings. Reception staff were not exactly what you'd call friendly, they appeared aloof and indifferent. Not welcoming at all.

Lots of restaurants nearby the hotel. They're are literally dozens on your doorstep. We were spoilt for choice and often went from one restaurant to the next sampling tapas.

On the whole I would recommend and stay at the hotel again.
