I stayed at Hotel Casona de San Andres for four nights in March 2008, as a solo vacationing traveler. The hotel is on a little skinny road that cars cannot drive on right next to a cute little plaza (square) and across the street from a church. It is located a few blocks from the El Corte Ingles. The taxi cab had a hard time finding it, and there is no signage directing you to it, either. If you come by rental car, you will be challenged to find legal parking for your car. Still, the hotel is very nice and modern inside. I had a room with a private balcony, which I just loved (not all rooms have balconies)! I sat out there every evening to eat my dinner and read until dark. The hotel has an elevator. The plaza is lively but not noisy; I was not disturbed by any noise during my stay, and I am a light sleeper. The hotel offers wi-fi in some rooms, but not all rooms (there is an internet cafe just a block away). The hotel has a limited breakfast, which I never had, so I cannot rate it. They also offer lunch, but no dinner. My room was very clean, modern, had a great bathroom. Staff speak some English. The TV in the room is small, but offers the Fox International News channel in English. Every night, the church bells would ring at 7:30PM, 7:45PM, 8PM, 8:15PM and 8:30PM (I don't know why it had this schedule, but I enjoyed the bells). I did not find the neighborhood seedy or dangerous immediately around the hotel, but different people have different opinions about what is scary to them; I am a single female traveler and I did not feel threatened. I really liked this hotel, and felt it was a great value.
