“Fabulous quirky hotel”

Fantastic location, full of character and spotlessly clean hotel. Very helpful staff who sorted out how to get football tickets for the local derby! Lovely roof terrace on which to enjoy a late afternoon drink and catch the sun (even in January!) Very spacious room with large bed and walk in shower. All in all, a great place to enjoy a winter break right in the hub of the centre of Seville

Room Tip: Get a Superior or above

“Elegant, charming, full of character”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Really pleasant stay - I cannot speak highly enough about this hotel.

I travelled with my elderly mum who is not great at walking. This hotel was ideal. It is literally only 5 minutes walk from the cathedral, the Alcazar, and some really good restaurants; the shopping area is also easily walkable. You cannot get a better location.

Although the previous reviews were positive, I thought that their photographs made the place look a little shabby and pokey, but nothing could be further from the truth. Some of the corridors and rooms may be characterful and 'tight' as you would expect from a house of this age in the old quarter of a city like this, but light does pour down the centre of the buildings in glass roofed atria, the quality and design of the furniture and fittings is very high with some genuine antiques, beautiful tiles, and colour schemes. There are actually three houses alongside each other. In some hotels that are "split-site" like this, you can land a really rough deal and be some considerable way away (and standard) from the main hotel advertised on websites, but in Hotel Amdeus this is not the case. The 3 houses all adjoin and aside from coming out one front door to go into the other, they are more or less the same. In the lobbys of all, you will find local wines and sherries to enjoy when you return in the evenings from sight-seeing which is a nice touch. In addition, the mini-bar wine and cava was not exhorbitant, and we actually indulged in these which we would not normally do. Lifts to all floors ensure top floor rooms are not a pain to get to. Big bed.

My mum had Room 205 in 'La Musica' - this room was a really good size, very spacious and incorporated a sofa sitting area. The bathroom was big, with bath and over-shower. Toiletries were just ok. Wonderful old wooden shutters sealed off the 5 large windows. Polished wood floors. Old-worldy and beautiful.

I had room 4, ground floor of La Musica. High ceilings, narrow, but spacious enough. No view, and quite dark as the window looked out onto the alleyway - in fact was sort of basement level, with the path outside above. The bathroom had a very impressive looking walk0n shower that had excellent pressure, but I could only get one "mode" of shower to work, despite there being lots of different knobs and jets. I don't think it was me - I genuinely think the other modes were out of action. this was also trune for Room 205 (above).

I had to then switch rooms for the last night as we had booked quite late and room 4 was not available for our full stay. This was room 111 in the main central building. It was very small, much more modern, and not as characterful: white decor. but still very clean and comfortable. Bathroom was beautifully decorated and multi-functioning jet shower worked a treat. My only issue in this newly refurbished room was that there was a "safety" light immediately above the door to illuminate the fire exist which stayed on all night. All though it was low level, becuase the room was so small it shone in my eyes throughout the night.

Breakfast we had on the roof terrace each morning in the sunshine beside the jacuzzi, looking across at the cathedral, and the roofs of the other houses. lovely. Nice rolls, oranges, pastries, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and fantastic fresh orange juice.

Friendly staff. We found the place ok with satnav, but be warned driving these tight streets in the last 'leg' of the journey in the old part of the city is difficult and I wouldn't recommend attempting to arrive for first time in the dark. There is a car park two minutes walk from the hotel.
We travelled at a great tme of year - January - although chilly in the evening, temperatures were in the 20s (celcious) during the day. Clear blue skies. Nice buzz withouth the attractions being swamped by tourists.

We took a very touristy horse drawn carriage which may be a bit pricey but was ideal for mum.

Room Tip: Room 205 in 'la Musica' is really lovely. Smaller rooms are very small

“Great and unique atmosphere, very good value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Really a fantastic place in the heart of Sevilla. Great atmosphere all around the classic music theme. Super shower, good service. Hotel is good accessible by car but don't rent a big one.

Ideal to spent a few days here with the love of your life!

“Wonderful Small Hotel”

Hotel Amadeus may be a reason to visit Sevilla, not just a place to stay while you are there. The music theme is well executed. We stayed 5 nights in the Verdi room. It was spacious, nicely decorated and clean. Comfortable beds, very nice bedding. Large bathroom with Jacuzzi, fluffy towels and robes. Staff was extremely helpful.. The location is ideal, close to everything we wanted to see, but on a quiet lane. Had a little trouble finding it from the airport bus drop-off, but that was mostly due to my misreading the map. When we left we walked to the train station towing our luggage - about a 20 minute walk. We didn't try the breakfast, but I imagine that it was as good as the rest of the hotel. Rates are very reasonable.

“Little bit of luxury”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We enjoyed a few nights here at the end of a long trip round Spain and we loved the luxury of the place - incredible beds & bathrobes, wonderful decor around the hotel, complimentary wine in the lounge, excellent staff, netbooks available to use around the hotel, and the beautiful roof terrace with views across Seville (with a hot tub as well!). It was such a treat, in a great location - I couldn't recommend it more highly. Pricey but worth it.

Room Tip: We went for a standard or small double room as I remember which was quite small so if you can afford...
