The hotel was quite difficult to find as we had travelled by car and it is in a pedestrianised street!The location, however, is excellent, right in Santa Cruz and near all major attractions as well as lots of tapas bars and restaurants.There is an underground car park about 200 metres away costing 19 euros a day.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room had no view but was quite large, very clean and well-equipped.There was wi-fi in the hotel, although our stay coincided with the Blackberyy black-out!
Breakfast was a buffet comprising cereals, cold meats, cheese etc and was quite adequate and reasonably priced.

Came for a few days and wanted to stay longer. Hotel Alcantara is walking distance to THE top sights and wonderful at night. Came by train, taxis brought us quickly to the ally where the hotel is located. I cannot say much about breakfast because I prefer to grab coffee on the street and enjoy the morning with locals. My room (room 36) was as described but I felt the bathroom was much larger than expected with a full bathtub with great hot water. We had a small window, which opened, with a nice view of the church bell tower. The wifi in the room registered as low but never had a problem connecting or dropping. Phone and carfare worked well. The front desk staff was wonderful. The woman at night was really friendly, warm and helpful. We watch as she carefully assisted and older gentleman connect to the wireless router. Towels and sheets were nice. Soap was from a dispenser. AC work well.

Located in the Santa Cruz area within minutes to the Cathedral you may think it would be noisy... Quiet with a central courtyard the Alcantara offers basic and clean accommodation with friendly and very helpful staff. Just off the foyer you'll find a small theatre that offers nightly flamenco shows for EU 15. At the price it is great value.
Oh there is a great local bar with good tapas at Bodeguez Faviola... Just four minutes away.

a bit hard to find when you travel by car, but worth the search. the staff is friendly and hosting. The hotel is in very good conditions and the rooms and beautiful. Breakfast is perfect to start a good visiting day of one of the most beautiful cities of Andalusia. you will have to park the car few blocks away in a public parking which is not cheap, but on the other hand, you're at a walking distance from the cities's attractions and restaurants... This was a great experience.
