Stayed here for 3 nights mid-November and loved it! It was a little tricky to drive a car to, but we were prepared with route plans and maps, and got there without too much stress (husband was driving and maybe a little bit more stressed than me) but I wouldn't let this put you off booking here as the location to the old town is perfect. The entrance is on a one way street, but there is a little lay-by to pull into and the hotel staff will then park your car for you in the underground car park.
Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. As the hotel wasn't full we did have a choice of rooms and opted for a room at the front with a balcony overlooking the small square. The room was lovely and had a spacious bathroom, however due to the time of year no air-conditioning was available, only heating, and we had unseasonably hot weather on arrival so the room was hot! We had to have the french doors open to keep the room cool in the evening which then also let in the noise from the street below, which was a real shame. We went to reception to explain and they promptly offered us a room on the other side of the hotel, whilst also allowing us to keep the key to the original room for the night so that we didn't need to rush in moving our luggage. Fantastic service.
Location was perfect! Bodeguita Fabiola around the corner did fabulous monteditos (and excellent for a fun night), La Cava Del Europa down the road on Calle Puerta de la Carna does excellent modern tapas, and there are so many other tapas bar options in the streets surrounding Mateos Gago.
Breakfast wasn't included in our stay, but directly opposite the hotel is a nice little cafe serving breakfast options at a reasonable price.
Overall, this hotel is perfectly placed, excellent service, lovely rooms - and I wouldn't hesitate recommending staying here.
