“Great hotel in great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

Stayed here for 3 nights mid-November and loved it! It was a little tricky to drive a car to, but we were prepared with route plans and maps, and got there without too much stress (husband was driving and maybe a little bit more stressed than me) but I wouldn't let this put you off booking here as the location to the old town is perfect. The entrance is on a one way street, but there is a little lay-by to pull into and the hotel staff will then park your car for you in the underground car park.
Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. As the hotel wasn't full we did have a choice of rooms and opted for a room at the front with a balcony overlooking the small square. The room was lovely and had a spacious bathroom, however due to the time of year no air-conditioning was available, only heating, and we had unseasonably hot weather on arrival so the room was hot! We had to have the french doors open to keep the room cool in the evening which then also let in the noise from the street below, which was a real shame. We went to reception to explain and they promptly offered us a room on the other side of the hotel, whilst also allowing us to keep the key to the original room for the night so that we didn't need to rush in moving our luggage. Fantastic service.
Location was perfect! Bodeguita Fabiola around the corner did fabulous monteditos (and excellent for a fun night), La Cava Del Europa down the road on Calle Puerta de la Carna does excellent modern tapas, and there are so many other tapas bar options in the streets surrounding Mateos Gago.
Breakfast wasn't included in our stay, but directly opposite the hotel is a nice little cafe serving breakfast options at a reasonable price.
Overall, this hotel is perfectly placed, excellent service, lovely rooms - and I wouldn't hesitate recommending staying here.

Room Tip: In the summer months go for a room with a view at the front (when air-conditioning is available) oth...

“Great location. I love it”

The location is great. Short walking distance to everything you are supposed to see in Seville. And like the other reviewer said, 30 seconds to nice cafes and bars and restaurants. The room is stylish, and big, which was a pleasant surprise during my trip in Europe. I did not have any noise issue. The shower head somehow had some problem. The staff was really nice and friendly. If I go back to Seville i will stay there again.

“It is ok?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

Decent place, but I would not stay here again. Great location, walking distance to everything. Clean and nice rooms. Downside is that the rooms walls are paper thin so yo u hear even the softest conversations from other rooms. I will take my chances somewhere else next time im in Seville.

“Great location, but a few minor issues”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

My girlfriend and I stayed here for six nights in December 2011. The location of the hotel was great; 30 seconds walk to great tapas bars, cafes and restaurants. The room was a decent size, but only had a tiled floor, which made it seem a little 'sterile'. Instead of a double, queen, or king bed, we only had two single beds (individually made) that we pushed together. The beds would slide apart easily, creating a massive gap between the beds as we slept. The only positive to this was that my girlfriend couldn't steal my sheets! I could have/should have complained, but didn't because I was enjoying the holiday too much to bother.

One problem we did have was that each day at about 2am (yes, 2am) the garbage truck and street sweepers would come along and empty the public bins located in the piazza in front of the hotel. it was honestly one of the loudest things I've ever heard. The workers were yelling at each other as loud as possible. This would last for about half an hour, which completely sucked.

Due to it being winter, we didn't need the A/C, but the heating was turned on automatically (pretty high). I couldn't work out the dials, so opted to have the windows slightly open, which added to the noise factor.

Please don't be too turned off by these points though. The hotel was clean, breakfast was excellent and the service was above average. The location really was fantastic and was the deal-maker for us. Just don't expect 5 star resort style acommodation.

Room Tip: I would highly recommend asking for a room without a balcony and across the hall. Ask specifically...

“Stylish hotel centrally located”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

We chose this hotel as a last resort as the cheaper hotels on our list became unavailable. However this decision turns out to be worthwhile. Not only the rooms are large and comfortable but the staff are efficient. The tiny roof top pool next to a bar is a nice touch although it gets crowded at happy hours. The hotel is centrally located and very close to numerous restaurants and major sights. A taxi stand is few steps away. Given the winding streets of the city a taxi is necessary when you need to get to the station quickly. The hotel is just 10 minutes away by taxi. We don't mind to stay here again if budget allows.
