“Excellent Value for Money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

Well, it's a beautiful looking place, maybe not so much from the outside but the inside is a real treat! Really Spanish feeling and we were really surprised. Our room was at the front so I was a bit concerned it may be noisy but it really wasn't. It's located really centrally; the Cathedral and Real Alcazar are within about 10 minutes and 20 minutes’ walk - depending on your route and pace! We only paid 30Euros for the night with a Continental breakfast and found this to be excellent value for money. The room was clean enough, plenty of towels but the bed wasn't very comfy, no extra pillows (although I'm sure if I had asked...) but a good shower and suited us perfectly for the minimal amount of time we spent in there. We needed a cheap place for an overnight stay that was central and not too far from the airport for an early morning flight and this ticks all the boxes. Lovely place, feel lucky to have found it!
If I had paid any more than 30Euros (for the 2 of us with breakfast) I may have wanted friendlier staff perhaps, extra pillows and a room that was a bit better than what feels more like a back packers room. But - perfect for the money and perfect for the night!
Seville tip – This was my 3rd visit to Seville (I have family living nearby) so try not to eat in the restaurants around the Cathedral if you can help it. Really overpriced tourist traps and not always great food.

“Nice roof top deck with WiFi! - good deal price wise”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2011

We decided to extend our stay in Seville over a weekend causing me to scramble to find a second place to stay since our original hotel in Santa Cruz was booked. Naranjo was a good find. The best thing about Naranjo is the room top deck. Lots of seating, small tables, loungers and WIFI! I loved it. We grabbed a bottle of wine and some snacks from one of the many bodegas on our daily walks. We would head back to the B&B for our evening wifi'ing on the roof until 10:30pm when the roof deck closes. Which left plenty of time to go back out for a wonderful night in Seville. Considering the price this hotel was a screaming deal - not the Ritz but I wasn't expecting it either. Naranjo is less than10 minute stroll to the Cathedral if you do not get lost or side tracked. Of course, getting lost is a must in Seville. You can stroll through Calle Sierpes, the shopping area, on your way to the Alcazar / Cathedral. The hotel is half a block from Museo de Bellas Artes! It is a short walking distance to the bus station if you are headed out to Italica. The metro is also close by. A good location - centrally located, near lots of the attractions best done on foot. Our room was 102 in Casa Chica - it was a two room suite which could sleep 3 with basic furnishings. The on-suite bathroom had a shower with limited water pressure but decent hot water. The room was huge but no wifi in the room. Being close to the street it could be noisy until Seville settles in for the night. But the street Naranjo is on is fairly quiet. I only care about coffee at breakfast and found Naranjo has many coffee options. The breakfast room gets crowded and noisy with limited wifi access at your table.

Room Tip: Try for an off street room. Remember there is no elevator - so you will be hauling your bags up the...

“Comfortable, Clean & Convenient”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2011

This classic Andalucian house is not by any means posh, but it is comfy and outfitted in tile, marble, wood and stained glass. The staff at the front desk was cordial and helpful. The lobby is small, with a phone booth and a computer terminal for internet access (1E for 30-minutes of use, pay the desk clerk) and around a corner there is a beverage machine. There are also wifi zones on the 2nd floor (in a booknook lounge area by the stairs) and in the breakfast room. However, we were never able to actually access any sites on our Droids, despite being connected to the system.

There is no lift, but it is a minor inconvenience and a reminder to pack light. While the room was reminiscent of Soviet-era accommodations, it was unfailingly clean (as is the case with most hotels in our Spanish experiences) and the air conditioning was most effective. Our family of four shared one room that provided enough space for our needs, with a wardrobe, two single beds and a sofa/bed with a trundle that popped up from it. All beds were suitably restful, especially after full days exploring the area. There is a nice rooftop terrace, but we only spent some time there one night enjoying a Cruz Campo beer from the lobby vendnig machine (2E). The bathroom was tight but adequate (taller people will need to straddle the toilet as there's no room for knees should one wish to sit). The tub is a surprising half-length one, but as I prefer showers, it was fine (just a bit of a climb to get into it).

Breakfast, from 8 to 10:30, perfectly adequate by Spanish standards and for the price (free), is served in a small breakfast room that fills rather quickly. It consists of cafe and chocolate, juices, breads, cereal, yogurt...that sort of thing.

The B&B Naranjo's location, tucked away in a small alley, was terrific...near interesting shops, cafes and bars. We were able to walk to plenty of places, including the Antiquarium, the tourist office (with free internet access at several terminals), the Cathedral of Seville (where Christopher Columbus's tomb in perhaps the most famous spot here). We also easily crossed a bridge into Triana and strolled along the river to another bridge and back to the B&B Naranjo.

Travelers seeking all the mod cons will likely prefer one of the fancy, newer, larger western-style hotels to the humble B&B Naranjo. However, we found it charming, convenient and priced right. We would gladly stay here again.

“Just OK.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2011

We stayed at his Bed and Breakfast for three nights in June of 2011. Our room actually turned out to be a mini-suite, which was a nice surprise. The suite was basic, but the bathroom looked like it was recently remodeled and very clean. I wish this place had a lift, as dragging our luggage up and down the stairs was not fun.

I have to agree with everyone here - this place is OLD. Breakfast is modest - toast, jam, cereal, mystery meat, coffee, orange juice, canned fruit. I was annoyed that we had to pay for the internet, don't think guests should be paying.

This hotel is located on a tiny narrow street, which has its charm, but is about a 25-30 minute walk away from the cathedral and the Alcazar. We noticed plenty of other budget places much more centrally located, so if you want to be right in the middle of everything, this is probably not the place for you.

One tip for those who're traveling to Sevilla - you must absolutely have dinner at Taverna Los Coloniales! It's right next to the cathedral, and offers authentic, DELICIOUS, and very well-priced tapas and dinner.
