“Avoid this Hacienda”

This hotel is 20 minutes outside of Sevilla and though there is a municipal bus that stops close by catching the return bus in the late evenings is tricky. We had booked a prepaid reservation long in advance and had few choices because it was during the annual Feria de Abril, a very popular holiday in Sevilla. We arrived in the afternoon and they had no record of our reservation though I had the confirmation in my hand. I guess we were lucky that they still had a room during such a busy holiday but the room was cold and dank and smelled musty. About on the level of a 1 or 2 star place. We could have overlooked all of that for the opportunity to be in beautiful Sevilla but when we returned home we found that we had paid twice for the lodging. They had double billed us and at 1.5 times the listed rate. It is taking quite an effort to reverse this extra charge.
So my advice is to avoid this Hacienda and the Feria de Abril. It was interesting in all the girls dressed in flamenco dresses and the Andalucian horses in their beautiful trappings but the Feria is basically a huge family reunion held in caseta (tents) in the fairgrounds and there is little opportunity for tourists who are not part of someone's family to take part.
Sevilla is wonderful in and of itself; no need to go at the most busy week of the year.

“Missed opportunity due to poor maintenance and service”

The hotel is at a 15-minute drive from the center of Seville, in an old monastery that has been decorated nicely. The rooms our noisy and the airconditioning was old. The hotel definitely does not deserve its four star rating, as it offered less than other 3-star hotels we visited in Spain. Breakfast is minimal, with only two pieces of toast and a cup of tea or coffee. You have to pay if you would like another piece of toast, while most other hotels have an elaborate buffet. The pool was untended and dirty. The hotel restaurant was poor and way overpriced. In the local restaurants nearby you can have a better meal for half the price. The glasses in the restaurants were very dirty with clear marks from the previous users. Too bad this hotel does not receive more attention from its owners and staff, because the beautiful old building has a lot of potential. We would not go here again.

“Avoid it like the plague!”

Having stayed happily at this hotel in 2006, we returned one year later expecting similar conditions. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Standards have fallen drastically. It failed in all areas to come anywhere near an acceptable standard, regardless of how many stars, even for a 1* ......
Dirty, smelly and ill-equipped rooms
Mal-functioning equipment
Dirty breakfast area (apart from the dirt, it was the bar where smoking allowed)
Breakfast food choice non-existent - no fruit, no yoghourt, no marmalade ...
Pool area very untidy with broken loungers and cushions missing ....... need I go on?
Head receptionist trying very hard to be helpful but the rest of the staff we encountered were unhelpful and surly. We should have been there for several nights but checked out after one. Definitely won't be going back!

“The pearl outside Seville”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2006

We spend two fabulous nights in this hotel in April 2006. You can see for yourself, how beautiful it is: [--]
We wanted to visit Seville during Semana Santa, but we couldn't find the place to stay. Finaly, my housband found this hotel, and it was just greate!
It's a small antuiqe house in very small and friendly town just 20minutes by bus outside Seville (we choosed not to go by car to Seville in this time of year, with all the proccesions ets.) The room was absolutly amazing!
There is a parking for hotel guests.
The breakfast was.... I just can't find the words! Cheese, hamon, eggs, drinks, fruites, sweets, you name it. There also a bar, which opens at evenings. And a restorant (not included in price, but the guests of hotel may order the dinner before others, and there are others - the restorant was full). I envy myself for eating there!:-) Delicious! And very autentic autmosphere.
I recomened them both: the hotel and the restorand with all my heart!

“Okay value for money”

We stayed there in October 2004. The hotel is in a suburb close to Sevilla (about 20 min to city centre), but not as expensive as Sevilla hotels, so this is a good alternative. Old building with beautiful interior decoration and very nice court. Staff helpfulness and friendliness was average. No problems to park your car behind the hotel (don´t pay for parking it inside). The hotel lies directly on a very busy and noisy main street, which means that you cannot sit in the court or at the swimming pool in silence. However, inside the rooms, the noise is no problem, the walls are thick and the windows very well isolated. The breakfast buffet was average (as usual in Spain). If you would like to have a good and typically Spanish meal (good food, not necessarily great decoration), go to "Los Navarros" (let the receptionist explain you where it is), it was the best food we had in Spain.
