Positives of staying at this hotel:
- Fantastic location in Triana, Seville. Triana is a great, lively area of Seville. If you stay at this hotel, you are literally about 10-15 minutes walk away from the historical centre of Seville. Saying that, there are plenty of hotels in Seville.
The hotel rooms are a very good size.
Negatives of the hotel:
- Reception. Upon arrival at the hotel we were greeted by two members of staff. We asked to check in. One member of staff just stood (a blonde haired lady) there whilst the dark haired man started tapping away on the computer. My partner and I were standing there for about five minutes before the key card was handed over. During this five minutes, nothing was explained to us, despite us asking if everything was ok. They simply said 'yes'.
- Room service. This hotel claims to have a 24 hour room service. This definitely is not the case. We tried to order room service twice during our stay (at around 11pm on both occasions). On both occasions we had to leave our room and go down to reception to ask for our food to be ordered. In fact, on the second occasion, my partner went down to reception to order the food. The receptionist took partner to the kitche entrance and asked another member of staff if it was ok to order the food! The kitchen staff member complained to the receptionist that it was time for him to leave. They then started speaking in Spanish. Anyway, the food did get ordered. 45 minutes after ordering the food, it was delivered by a sweaty staff member to our hotel room. The food was cold and there was cigarette ash on the side of one of the plates... YUM!?! When I went down to receprion to complain (I had to go to reception because, surprise surprise, they weren't answering the phone), they did mot provide an apology.
- Checking out. Upon checking out, we were handed a bill of €36 for a meal we supposedly had at the hotel restaurant. Although my partner and I had eaten at the restaurant (food is good by the way!), we had already paid for our meals and went on a daye that was different to the one shown on the receipt! I advised the the receptionist (who was the same one from when my partner and I checked in) that we paid for our meal in euros and that we went on a different date. He showed me the signature and said "you signed for it". The signature was not mine. I told the receptionist this and he said "Ok, no problem". Again, there was no apology, no explanation as to whether he was going to find out who had the meal, nothing.
This hotel could be fantastic; it's such a shame that the customer-facing staff lack customer service skills. Get the basics right! Also, if you can't offer 24 hour room service, do not advertise it. Something else that could improve it would be to have tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms.
Unfortunately, I would not stay here again as a result of the service. I would definitely come back to Seville though! It is a beautiful city!!
