Last January we stayed at the associated Apartamentos Las Cruces which was excellent value. This time, just before Christmas, we opted for the main hotel with its convenience of breakfast on site. Staying four nights and combining with cheap Easyjet flight schedules, we paid just £60 a night for two of us including breakfast. Considering the wonderful location, this is a bargain, but perhaps costs more at other times. Our room was on the first floor and looked out onto the inside, so was not very bright. When you are touring, this does not matter. The room was spotless as was the en-suite - quite new with plenty of hot water, shampoo, soap etc. We even had a bidet! The beds were comfortable and we slept well apart from the occasional party-goers who always think they are the only ones alive at two in the morning. There was very little noise, which for a big city, is priceless. Seville was magical with great atmosphere and decorations pre Christmas. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and efficient, and breakfast was adequate with a reasonable choice. Nothing special, though. We hired a car for two days very cheaply, collecting from the station some 20 minutes walk away, but found the nearby underground car park more expensive to park overnight than the cost of hire. It would have been better to hire the car on a daily basis. Later we discovered that the hotel would have arranged hire for us, but we didn't look at the prices. Driving in Seville is no worse than any other city, but you do need to know where you are going and study a map carefully. It seems turning left (from the right hand side of the road) is not possible and you need to know what provision has been made to go right first. These do exist!
The weather - sunny and warm most days (up to 18 degrees) but definitely chilly at night (down to 2 degrees). Great hotel and great city.

I think half the problem with some negative reviews is that people don't have a clue where to find cheap prices! Take Tedbun for example, who paid 160 euros per night for this hotel. I paid one-third of that. I've never paid more than 75 euros per night for any hotel, including some 5 star hotels (with one exception) - so no wonder he's grumpy.

Anyway, if you find a reasonable rate then this hotel is perfect for you if you're staying in Seville. It's very near a couple public parking lots, smack dab in the center where all the sights are, and there are many restaurants nearby.

Overall I found the people of Seville much more friendly than in other places in Spain. The check-in procedure was particularly pleasant with a very charming staff member who obviously actually cared about his job.

We found the room clean and quiet and I would book this hotel again if I return to Seville.

I stayed here with 2 teenage boys about 2 months ago. The location was excellent! Our room was located on the 3rd floor and very simple! The professional pictures above are very accurate as if taken in the room I stayed at. My windows were in the front of the hotel and I never suffered from excessive noise outside. The bathroom was a decent size, although the shower enclosure was pretty small and not very practical.

Wifi was free in the lobby, so that's where we would check our emails etc.
TV has limited channels - none in English... some programming a but inappropriate.
Housekeeping was excellent!
Front desk reps were very courteous and helpful!

As per all the previous reviews, the big plus side to this hotel is its great location in Santa Cruz.
However when we stayed we paid 160 euros per night and it found it very expensive for what is an average budget hotel with hardly any facilities. Be prepared for noise everywhere! The upper rooms have some sort of generator buzzing above them constantly, the rooms to the front have contant street noise, even though it is pedestrian there are still mopeds, metal beer kegs rolling along, wheely suitcases etc - it never stops. We cannot comment on rooms to the back of the hotel as they were not available but it is also noisy within the hotel from the corridors, neighbouring rooms, doors slamming etc.
On a positive note the communal areas are nice, staff friendly and rooms although worn are clean. Seville was a great city for a short break and we would return anytime but not to Hotel Murillo.
