Like an earlier reviewer, we were given a room on the ground floor in the rear that had only one window, which looked into the computer room/common room. This meant we could not open the curtains, and therefore had no natural light or air. Needless to say, we tried to spend as little time in the room as possible. The room itself was reasonably clean.
The hotel is close enough to the city center, but it is not really in the city center. You can walk anywhere in a matter of 20-30 minutes or so, but to get to the hotel from the center you have to walk past a construction site (marked as a park on maps) and through a graffiti-lined alley that isn't terrible but really just rubs in the fact that you're not really in the center...
The breakfast was passable, but was mostly things that you would not eat if you had a choice. The automatic coffee dispenser in the breakfast room produces a coffee-like substance that is best left alone. The coffee in Seville is generally so good that you're better off just finding a random cafe around the corner somewhere.
Overall, Hotel Abril is certainly passable in most regards if you're stuck and need a place to stay, but it is certainly not what you would expect for the price you will pay. We stayed at 4 different hotels in in Spain during this trip, and Hotel Abril was just as expensive as the 4 star hotels we stayed in in Cordoba and Madrid, but it was not nearly as comfortable.
On the plus side- the desk staff were very friendly and helpful. They were more than happy to give us toilet paper when it was not replenished by the service staff.
