“An excellent find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

A delightful hotel, superb location with great service and excellent value rooms. The bedrooms are on the second floor, the entrances to each room being set in an attractive gallery ovelooking the covered atrium/courtyard below, which also serves as a cafe/tea-room.

The hotel can probably be best described as a "restaurant with rooms", as the restaurant, which is on the first floor, seems to be its core business. I have to say though, despite the fact that the hotel was really good, we thought the rather grand restaurant was far too expensive, and, although we had a passably good meal, not necessarily the best choice in town! However, as the hotel is so close to the centre of the old part of Seville, you can find many other restaurants within easy walking distance.

We only overnighted as we had a meeting in Seville before moving on to spend a few days in Aracena, but we could definitely have stayed there longer. All the staff were friendly and extremely helpful.

One word of advice. If you are driving, then book a garage space with the hotel in advance. The €20 you pay on top of the room price (we paid €80 for a double room) is well worth it, particularly as the reception staff are only too happy to help you negotiate the car in and out of the lift if you don't feel up to doing it yourself! Parking in the centre of Seville, unless you know the area very well, is a nightmare!

All in all, a great place to stay; within walking distance of everywhere the average tourist wants to visit, friendly and helpful staff, excellent rooms for the price and we would definitely return.

“Culinary Institute, students serving, excellent lunch”

We went here for lunch. The neighborhood was fun to navigate on the way there! The service was ok as students are learning how to serve correctly. It is a mock fine dining experience in that respect. The black paella was great and the desserts were very good too. While it wasn't one of the best meals ever in Spain it was an excellent choice for lunch. And considering the price we felt it was a fair value! We noticed a lot of locals in business suits so I was glad we didn't wear jeans and tshirts here even though I got the impression they would have served us no matter what we wore.

“A beautiful hotel in a beautiful city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2011

The hotel room was great value, with a small living area as part of a larger than normal bedroom. The furnishings, especially the lovely bathroom, were old world luxury. The staff were helpful and very polite. Location is 5 minutes from the major attractions and close to plenty of restaurants and bars.

“A place that made sweet memories”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

I got this recommendation from Rick Steves' book. I was so impressed by just about everything about this place. Mostly the courteous & happy to help with anything reception desk people especially Noelle. The rooms were immaculate. We stayed in the Cordoba room which was spacious The style was a classy traditional.
The tile work in the bathroom was gorgeous. The wall covering in the bedroom is a floral print material which was pretty. Breakfast is included & very nice. Always good breads, pastries, ham & cheese & great coffee. The very fine (& expensive) resturant maybe a bit overated.
A good location with a market close by & near most attractions. Look no farther cause this is "the" place to stay. Not cheap but worth every euro.

Room Tip: Noise does not seem to be a problem in any room
