“A perfect hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

This hotel is a little gem in the heart of the old town of Granada. Perfectly situated with an easy 10 minute walk into the city and a frequent bus service (no 31) back up the hill. The whole ambience is delightful and the staff provide a service second to none. The rooms are clean and are tastefully furnished in Spanish style. A perfect place to stay.

this hotel deserves all the praise you see on TripAdvisor.

i am travelling thru Spain with my parents & from the moment we stepped inside the courtyard we were treated very well. the lovely staff is so helpful, patient, and kind. the hotel itself is full of charm and old world touches - the windows, the furniture - but has all the modern emenities you are wanting - wifi in all rooms, tv, hot showers. the bed is BEYOND comfortable and the pillows too.
it is very clean - and I'm a neat freak.

the hotel is located up on the hill in the Albycìn so get ready to climb some hills - no worries if that sounds scary, there's also a super easy bus that stops up there too. It doesn't feel totally safe up here late at night (walking around the curvy dark streets), and my two friends in Granada told me to for sure take a cab after 11pm. so, do that.

The breakfast that is included is very simple and very classic - jamón, cheese, bread, olive oil, tomato, cereals, yogurt, a classic breakfast. There is very comfortable common room/lounge with a fireplace and books. they also have a photo album of the massive renovation that took place here to make the hotel what it is today. very interesting.

come here. you will find it a lovely respite on your trip.

Room Tip: the rooms that face the outside of thenotel have more sunlight, but the rooms that face into the cou...

“Very nice hotel...except for their poor actitud”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

It is hard to get to this hotel in top of the hill. To go to the Alhambra the taxi needs to take a large circle around the city. Santa Isabel gave us great impression because it looks very Spanish. Our room was small but normal for Europe. The extra bed was very uncomfortable with metal springs poking in my back. The breakfast was the best we got in Spain. What we did not like too much is that the receptionist recommended to go to the restaurants in the plaza down the street and the service and food were pretty bad. We wish she was more honest about it, we could go to a better place in Granada.
Also, when we arrived from the Alhambra at 1 PM, very tired, she told us we could not use our bathroom because it was fixed. Could she wait until we check out? We left the hotel about 2 PM and again she was upset because we did not leave before this time. She smashed our great first impression of Santa Isabela la Real.

Room Tip: Choose the rooms in the back far away from the street. Ask for the largest room they have.

“Quaint hotel in ideal location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

We had a wonderful time in this small charming hotel located in the Albaycin area of Granada. It is in an ideal location to explore the old historic area of Granada with narrow cobblestone streets, quaint restaurants and small shops and many historic sites. The plaza just above the hotel has amazing view of the Alhambra. The rooms were a nice size and well appointed. Great place to explore Granada on foot. If you drive to the hotel, it is VERY important to go to the website for specific directions. The hotel needs to arrange to let you enter the Albaycin area in a vehicle. Make sure you have arranged for a parking spot which we did...The streets to get to the hotel in the Albaycin area are very narrow and windy. Unless you follow their directions and know what to expect the drive to the hotel can be a bit unnerving. The hotel staff was very helpful and pleasant.

“A truly romantic nest!”

My husband and I spent a night here in December and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they provided us with a map highlighting the places worth visiting, and Granada is a very romantic city to visit! We particularly loved the old 'barrios' and the Moroccan areas around the Cathedral.
We found the room ad the bathroom very clean and cosy, our ONLY suggestion to the hotel owners would be to provide these with Double-sized beds rather than twin beds! ;D
Breakfast consisted of a large buffet, everything was extremely fresh and the room was spotless.
We would love go back and hopefully we will at some point!

Room Tip: Having the choice, go for a room with an external view! Our room opened onto the internal courtyard...
