This July we stayed at the Casablanca Hotel in Granada, Spain to see the Elhambra Palace (a must-see). While we are comfortable with basic & inexpensive hotels that offer location and a clean, safe place to stay, the Casablanca falls below these standards. The hotel is worn out. There's little to no service (we had requested a towel and never received it). The beds were soft, the fabrics old and worn. Even the included breakfast was a disappointment. This is one to miss.

A grim hotel. Where do I start? I would have changed hotels if I hadn´t have pre-paid....

Full of school parties on holidays. More like a student hostal than a hotel, not at all relaxing. Oh yeah, the room walls are the colour of rotting tapas...

For a budget hotel we found the Casablanca not as awful as previous postings. Plenty of hot water with a great shower, our beds were clean and comfy, breakfast was woeful, but hey we didn't go to Granada for the breakfasts! good location - everything within walking distance.

Booked this through hotel through Octopus and if it wasn't because it was pre-paid we would have switched to another hotel.

At least this place was very clean, but it did suffer from a number of other problems:

- beds were old, uncomfortable and too short to fit a 5'11" person - feet were sticking out;

- airconditioning was very poor and it invariably brought in a very unpleasant smell of drains;

- no bedside lamps, leaving only the the sharp ceiling lighting;

- towels seemed to be made of nylon - completely unable to absorb;

- most staff where very pleasant but the night receptionist was very surly;

- breakfast was buffet-style but of such a low standard that we only attended once in a 5-day stay.
