“Almost fantastic!”

49 euro for room and parking!!!!! I like almost all, except the cold in rooms and no breakfast. Nice and charming romms and courtyard, this is quiet place really in downtown! Owner was so kind, that parked our car himself. Super!

I don`t remember, who writed about 5 euro from an owner to anyone for good review at Tripadvisor, but they got me nothing!!! I sweared them, that my review`ll be the best, but...But, at least, we laughed much))) So, i`m writing it without money)))))))

“Good value and good location but...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

We booked this hotel because of the great value and the proximity to the train station (as well as the glowing recommendations on TA). It was very quiet at night and it was easy to get everywhere.

I would agree that the staff were lovely and very helpful and friendly. The owners do take some pride in the hotel with a beautifully decorated courtyard and nice touches like plenty of toiletries and cheap drinks to purchase.

We upgraded to a room which overlooked the internal courtyard and were given number 107. Lovely outdoor seating on the balcony which we couldn't use too much on account of it being too chilly but still nice to have.

We did have a couple of issues though which didn't make our stay as fantastic as the other reviewers had experienced.
Our bathroom ceiling began to leak (seemed like the pipe in the ceiling was leaking which in turn created a mould patch which finally turned into a hole when we arrived). This was finally rectified after the 2nd day of it dripping water but because it was freezing cold during the night and the tiled floors are more suited to Summer weather, having a cold, wet bathroom floor was not too pleasant.
Also a word of warning with the tiled floors. Traditional Spanish accommodation all tend to have this which is perfect for hotter weather. Granada experiences 0 degree temps overnight which can leave your room very cold. It may be an idea to bring thick bed socks or slippers to walk around in if you stay in Winter. I could still feel the cold through my normal socks!
These were the only negative points of our stay but as it was cold, having a leaking bathroom and very cold floors didn't make the stay amazing.
I still give Abadia points for efforts. The price is excellent as I mentioned and I liked the location as well.

Room Tip: Don't get room 107 unless they have fixed the leaking bathroom ceiling!

“Character and service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

Very well decorated hotel with a courtyard - but do not choose superior room with terrace (which is shared gallery, in fact)! It makes a room gloomy, because your window is to the terrace and not to the street. 'though in "terrace" room you have a table with armchairs to sit at the gallery, breath evening air and look to the courtyard.

In other aspect a hotel is very good: very quiet and intimate (but just one step from lively shopping and restaurant street!), big rooms with fridge, kettle, free wifi, compliment cosmetics, and excellent service: receptionists are mainly young girls speaking perfect English, very helpful and cooperative.

“Best value hotel I have ever stayed at”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

Abadia Hotel is advertised as a 2-star hotel but I got a 5-star experience. This hotel completely exceeded my expectations. I still cannot believe it. In my years of traveling, I have never gotten so much for paying so little.

Furthermore, you can tell the owners *love* their hotel. You can see they invested money, effort and love in the property. It shows from many big and little things.

Likes:
-Good location: Only 3 minute walk to the main street. (However I got lost so many times. I suggest printing out a google map in advance)
-The service I got was better than from most 5-star hotels. I encountered 3 staff members throughout my stay and all of them were amazing. When I asked or needed something, they would always returned with more than I expected. It was obvious that they helped because they really wanted to.
-Room: Very clean and nicely appointed
-Nice courtyard
-This hotel has a lot of character and charm, something money can't buy. Many 5-star hotels have none.
-It's recently renovated and everything still looks new
-€1 drinks/mini-bar type items from reception

Dislikes
-None

I would highly recommend this hotel. It's clean, new and charming, and I still can't believe the price.

We were pleased to learn that you had an enjoyable stay. Although we can not upgrade all our guests for free, I was delighted to learn that you were upgraded and got a nice apartment, 500 meters away. It will probably take some time before you are visiting Granada again but we hope to welcome you again if this is the case.
With best regards
