The best thing about this apartment hotel is the location. You open the shutters and the Cathedral is right in front of you! :) The apartment itself was not bad either. We had a double flat that was nice and spacious and also very clean. Somebody was complaining about the confusion with checking in at Hotel Reina Christina, but we had no problems. All the information regarding this was clearly stated in our booking confirmation so we knew what to do. The breakfast (included in our room price) was served also at Reina Christina and it was very good.

The only negative thing was the occasional noise from outside. Even with windows and shutters closed you could clearly hear people talking on the street or at the square, which was not so nice at 4 am... But I guess this has more to do with the Spanish construction technology per se (or better, just old buildings :) ) than with this apartment hotel particularly. And luckily there was no traffic around!

I discovered this small hotel on the Spanish booking site quehoteles.com. I paid $27 euros per night and was very satisfied.
The hotel is about 50 yards behind the cathedral and is next to the bar de tapas de Pasiegas. The rooms are large, very modern and include a microwave and refrigerator.
The Cathedral Suites is part of the Hotel Reina Cristina. One of the quirky things about the property is that you have to check in at the Reina Cristina, which is about one hundred yards away. After checking in at the Reina Cristina, you are given a key card for the Cathedral Suites property. The Reina Cristina also requires a refundable deposit of 20 euros for the tv remote control.
The only negative for the Cathedral Suites is that it does not have wifi. To use wifi, you have to go to the lobby of the Reina Cristina. There is no additional charge for the wifi, and the connection is secure.

We enjoyed the stay in the apartments very much. There is the lovely view of the cathedral, kitchen with microwave and fridge, enough space and seating to relax. Unfortunately we had some trouble with a lack of hot water.

I made a reservation with them over two months in advance and then needed to cancel shortly after. On their website and their email it clearly stated that I had to cancel within 24 hours of arrival, which I did. But they are refusing to let me cancel the reservation and have charged my company credit card for the FULL AMOUNT of the stay (two months in advance!), claiming that they gave me some special 15% discount for early reservations, which, "unfortunately" are non-refundable! Can you believe that!? Thankfully, my credit card company is contesting the charge, but sheesh, do you really want to trap and trick people like that? It's not like I tried to cancel the night before----and keep in mind they aren't charging me a fee but rather the entire four nights for a December 2011 reservation. !!! Someone needs to fix this problem.
