“Solid hotel - but nothing special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2010

basic hotel with rooms on 11-14 floor. 3 stars might be a fairer description. reception staff was close to being rude. despite having pre-booked hotel parking facilities we were not allowed to briefly park in the entrance area (in order to check in) nor were we allowed to drive into the hotel car park (before having checked in).
half of the rooms face the city & alhambra whilst the other half an other tower building. convenient location: 10min walking distance to city centre, close to bullring & students area with lots of bars and take aways.
rooms are clean and have normal size, but you can hear corridor noise, cause the rooms haven't got a second door for sound insulation.
i would book this hotel again if there was a special deal but not at a normal rate.

“Good Solid Hotel close the bullring”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 July 2010

Yes this a good solid hotel if attending the fair de corpus for the bullfights. Withing walking distance. On main street but very quiet rooms. Yes they are on floors 11 thru 14. Elevators are small but there are 4 of them and they are very fast.

Rooms are good updated and clean...dont know what others are talking about them being outdated. Were very modern. Cleaning Service was excellent. Has minibar to use. Hairdryer. Remember to always bring conditioner in Spain and never expect an iron anywhere.

Bar is a little bit bare looking but service was OK. Never ate in the restaurant as you can eat way cheaper in the local cafes.....bars close by. There is a Carrefour Express where you can buy what you need for your room...fruits drinks wines beers etc...a full service supermarket. Just exit the hotel and go to your right on the main street its about on block or so.....2mins away..it is closed on Sundays.

Parking in the hotel is 14 euros per night in the underground garage. Internet is 15 euros per day (wireless). Do you self a favor and buy a 3g from Vodafone plus a one month access which costs you around 70 euros. The 3g plug in is still good so you can use it again and top up. The top up for one month is 29euros. If I had used the hotel, it would have cost 135 euros. But was also able to use it even in the car when traveling...some black spots when in the mountains..but still good.

The old part of town is about a 15min walk but interesting on the way.

If you are interested in eating near the bullring just afew mins away.....a restaurant bar is called Ramirez it is very colorful and full of photos of bullfighters...this is a treat for seeing some real spain not some generic could be anywhere in the world place. The food is good and reasonable price.

There is a very nice place in the bullring to be entered from the outside of it.....forget the name but not tendido uno which has bad reviews. It is expensive and I dont rate if for the price....do go there for a drink or tapas. Hangout of the yuppie crowd in Granada

Alhambra overated along with Abaizin (spelling). Get out of town and go to Montefrio, Alhambra de Granada and the Sierra Nevada.....Lanjaron and the village above it high in the mountains. Drive not for the faint of Heart as big drops on side of road. Well worthwhile to see beautiful villages. Nerja a wonderful coastal town dramatic coastline.

Ok...hope this helps

“Convenient location - hotel quite run down”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2010

The hotel is in walking distance to the city center (takes about 20min). The lobby is nicely redecorated - the rooms unfortunately not. They are quite old fashioned and the bathroom had a strange smell. Rooms are badly isolated and you can hear every word from the neighbour's room. Also you can hear the noise from the street outside.
Breakfast had a good choice.
Unfourtunately, there was just one person at the reception who could speak English.

“Need to try much harder”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 March 2010

On arrival, we were surprised to discover that the hotel has a ground floor reception, but the rooms are on floors 11 to 15 of an aprtment block. Not a problem for most people admittedly, but for someone with a phobia of lifts not great to find room is on 13th floor! {I had emailed in advance to ensure a room on a low floor, for this very reason, but received bo response].
Thankfully, we twere soon relocated to the wheelchair access room on the ground floor. Unfortunately, the room was outdated with peeling paint on ceiling and dirty furniture. There was no natural light other than a tiny, filthy eyelevel window with bars. There was no safe and the minibar was practically empty. More worryingly, access to bath/shower would have been impossible for a wheelchair user....
Things got worse when we realised there was a nightclub above our room, which went on until 7am on both nights we stayed!
In addition, the coffee in the bar was terrible...unforgiveable in a counttry reknowned for fabulous coffee!

“Stop Now! Look at other hotels!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2010

To be honest the price of the hotel room was fair in comparison to other hotels in Granada. Our hotel room was not worth what we paid. The hotel is old and has a worn look and feel. The hallway smelled bad and the rooms could use a good cleaning. The staff was grumpy and the dinning facilities smelled like an ashtray!
