“1* hotel not 4*”

We stayed here from 9-13 July 07, upon arrival there was no concierge - albeit we arrived late - there was no 24/7 service. Tired and hungry we checked in - then located the 'room service' menu. This finished around 11o'clock - so was too late for food. Luckily we spotted some old doughnuts in a display on the bar and was given (nice) 2 of them (it was FOOD!) There was nothing else open in the neighbourhood either.

Next day breakfast ! served between 7-11 am my husband went earlier but I went about 09.50am - the burners for the eggs had been taken away - so there were cold solidified fried eggs, cold frittata, and cold scrambled eggs UGGHH. The cold meats and cheeses were good mind. If you're a tea lover - the water in the teapot under the heat lamps was so teppid it wouldn't even 'draw' the tea from the bag! and when milk was added - well - give up! Oh, and if you think you'll have a nice cuppa (something) upon waking - forget it - no tea or coffee makers in any rooms. Well, breakfast was like that all week - didn't change, or was a 'bad day'.

Wednesday night - been out had nice food in town, taxi back (as it's a bit of a way from the Biba Ramblas). Had a drink in our room, then I got into bed (all beds are singles, pushed together - even in the 'suites'! tell you bout that next! The sheets were WET - I don't even mean a bit 'damp' I MEAN WET...... both beds were cold and wet. Called for someone to come to room, no one there for a 4* hotel could speak German, French let alone English. He didn't understand - but kindly moved us (not our belongings) to another room up a floor - got into bed - same thing - WET SHEETs - must of been a 'batch' in laundry that day. Phoned again - another guy came up, he then moved us to the 'suite' well, I'm a conference organiser and view hotels and their rooms and suites for my boss. SUITE - this was a JOKE - the suite was the same as our room 2 floors down, only difference, there was a larger area to put your case and the window was twice the size!! Anyway, after all our hassels with the sheets we got into them on Thursday thinking that the maid would of changed them (I wish I'd ripped them all off the bed and left them outside the room) as the maid had just made the bed again and the sheets were still wet! we gave up - got the blankets out of the wardrobe and lay on them.

Next day my husband complained to the conference organisers who had booked this hotel and they were not happy with the hotel either - oh, pool, before I forget the photos look great - but it's a 'lane' pool about 6ft wide and the propper length of a pool not full size at all as the cleaver photography dipicts!

My husband tried to see the manager - who seemed to be on a permanent 'siesta'. We were going to write a letter - but I thought it would be an eye opener for other possible guests to read this for themselves. It was a joy to return to England!

“Very recomended”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2006

We were 26-28th Dec (2 nights) in a family trip (two children 10 and 12 and us) and we reserved 2 double rooms. The rooms were really nice: new and modern and full equiped, also we can say some luxury. Breakfast quite good. We also had a dinner and a lunch, and the food was very good and the service perfect. Price correct. The hotel is in a not very special beautiful area, but is 15-20 min. walking from the center (can take also a taxi for 4-5 EUR and is 5 min.)and 5 min. walking from the "Parque de las Ciencias", a science musseum very recomended, specially if you travel with kids.
The staff very proffesional. We recomend absolutely this hotel. The only question is to find in internet a good price when you make the reservation in Internet (a correct price is about 90-100 EUR/day double with breakfast included)

“Hotel Exceeded Expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2006

After getting off the bus from Malaga and then a city bus to this property, I felt rather overwhelmed by the amenities this hotel offered. Upon entering you feel this sense of clean, modern lines that seem a little unexpected from a historical city like Granada.
The room had a business feel to it but I suspect that was in keeping with the sparse, minimal theme. It was also very spacious yet was cozy enough for two adults.
The rooftop terrace offered unobstucted views of the surrounding hillside which was a great background for the pool and sun area. Atlhough the hotel was not ideally situated, public transit was less than a block from lobby and this little inconvenience allowed us to see parts of the city we would not have normally seen had we been in the town center.
The hotel restaurant was a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of the others in town we had considered eating at. Located on the rooftop, it provided a nice ambiance for our dining experience. The only drawback was the one wait staff handling about four different tables.
Arriving in Granada, we thought it would be no problem getting to see the Alhambra, however we were informed by front desk that if we started early enough in the morning we could get in a queue and get same day tickets for 10 Euros each. We really enjoyed this hotel and would stay there again if we are fortunate enough to visit Granada for a second time.

“Restaurant and Hotel are divorced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 April 2006

The hotel is confortable, modern and nice. The reception area and its team create a good atmosphera and help a lot. Although we had a few problems with the bathrooms that were not done when we arrived at 6 p.m. they were solved immediately. The other side of the hotel is the restaurant. Although the food at the restaurant is really good, service and efficiency are really a problem. First day they took two hours to deliver an order. Next day we asked for a sandwich 50 minutes before our tour departure and finally we had to ask for the hotel manager to help us because waiter could not assure the sandwhich to be delivered on time. Last day, our daughter was sick and could only eat some plain crackers that we brought with us. I took a piece of butter for her and the waitress wanted to charge me the cost of a whole buffet for this..Their education, kindness and friendliness was very very far from what you can expect at the restaurant....The hotel and the restaurant seem to be divorced!!!!

“Go elsewhere”

This hotel experience was not pleasant from start to finish. Booked via expedia and was told upon arrival that my booking had not been received yet (despite it being 24 hours later). Nevertheless, managed to get a room, but was given a twin. Asked for a double as per my booking - not possible. Was charged approx 330EUR for 2 nights, which is twice that of other hotels in the area. Arrived down for breakfast next day, this costs 20EUR and wasnt included in the hefty price. While down there, saw a sign saying parking was 12EUR a day also, that too obviously not included. Finally got a double room for the next night, go up to the room, doorkey doesnt work! Got that sorted, then fancied a swim in the advertised outdoor pool, which I find is located on the roof of the hotel, however totally locked up and wont be ready for a few weeks! Despite this being advertised and the main reason I had chosen this hotel. All in all, very poor service and an experience which soured visiting the great city of Granada.
