I do not see myself as a rude person, but having travelled the world and stayed in all sorts of hotels from 2 to 5 star, I can say, that never have I woken up with the feeling that I slept in a sewage tank! This hotel has all the beautifull and fantastic aspects others have described, however, it truely does smell like sewage! And what is beaty when you are close to vomitting from the smell of sewage. Or worse..... a mixture of toilet sewage and old waste from the nearest butcher. It was not just a little - it was so that when we woke very early in the morning we just ran out of the room and grabbed our things, and went to get a disount at the reception, who could say nothing but no, and then "yes, we do know we have that problem with the sewage". And now reading that people before us have had the same sewage smell in the hotel as we did, and the reception admitting that it was a problem, then and now, I do think it is a disaster that this hotel could be mentioned in any list of "hidden gems" etc. The only thing hidden is the smell of sewage! One thing was that you could hear your neighbour using the loo, that is allright in old, exotic hgotel, but to be able to smell it, almost taste it, well that can destroy your holliday. I felt very sorry for the relatively nice people working there. When we arrived at the next hotel and started unpacking my husbond said, "oh no, it smells here too" - untill we discovered that it was our luggage that still did smell so bad from only one night in that room. To pay money for staying this place, cheap or not - is burglary!
Room Tip: Don't go! They have a major problem with sewage.
