“Nice hotel and a friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

The façade was impressive among regular buildings on Colon Avenue and the lobby was equally beautiful. Actually there was a problem to get there: car was not allowed along the avenue during the day and there was a camera beside the hotel. But the bell door helped us with the ticket. Actually he helped as we parked in front of the hotel with the bags, with the maps, with reservations, with restaurants and still he parked our car. And that is not because he was the only one available but anyone in the staff is very helpful.
Our room was in the new part of the building, with a view to the street that makes it a little noisy. A little. The room was large with lots of space to accommodate the clothes, although there is not a lot of space to leave the bags, décor was appealing with strong colors and nice furniture, and the bed was very comfortable: soft but not too much. There were two pillows per person, one soft and one harder.
The soaps and cosmetics were very good quality and replaced every day. As the breakfast was not included we preferred to have it in one of the cafes next to the hotel like Spanish people do every morning: tostada con jamon Serrano (bread with raw ham), milk and coffee. That is enough for the morning and costs less than 5 euros. One last detail: the minibar was free. Anything, from beers to sodas could be consumed freely. Pay attention

“Great first impression, but lost value fromthe moment I asked for assistance with a broken telephone in the bathroom”

We only had 2 days in Granada, so we decided a hotel was more efficient than an apartment...and this looked promising. The room was clean, modern and I was quite impressed....except the telephone in the bathroom was making loud noises as it was permanently off the hook ( broken ). Twice I asked for assistance, but this was never forthcoming. We found the location not very convenient.....less so than otherwise indicated by othe TA reviews....maybe it was just me? Overall, not such a great experience, but adequate for a short stay.

“character, well located property but a bit overpriced!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

2 converted old buildings- one of them being a former convent with a peaceful courtyard (where you can also eat) in the middle. My room - one of the superior ones-was great- overlooking the courtyard and with beams, nice size, feel and bathroom with good accessories. The hotel is on the main street in the centre and I wonder if the street standard rooms may be a bit noisy tho? Good location, however, and within easy walking distance of most things- even the alhambra if you do not mind walking and ok going uphill for about 20 minutes...
Staff were really helpful on the reception.
Breakfast was adequate- fresh coffee and orange juice nice touches but somehow not quite up to spec for a 5 star hotel. Plenty of places to eat nearby so you do not necessarily need to eat in- including cake shops and patisseries on the same street..and lots of restaurants in the town...
The gym and saunas were not too impressive... and need booking in advance to use.. small and not inspiring so I did not bother using them in the end..
I would recommend this hotel if you can get a decent rate.. also try the amazingly located parador in the alhambra and some of the old character hotels in the centre...
just one word of caution- some pickpockets and drug addicts clearly visible in the centre...

Room Tip: facing on to courtyard in the converted convent....altho more expensive..

“Very good quality, location, staff, dining.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

This hotel was ideally situated for our first visit to Granada. We would return. We stayed in the Palacio portion of the hotel and enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff was exceptional, very helpful and friendly.
While the rooms were clean, ours was awkwardly constructed, smallish and cramped. There were no drawers and the closet was small with too few hangars. The lighting was poor, very dark rooms, with no natural light.
Despite the last remarks we would stay there again, as the positives outweighed the negatives. It is a solid choice.
We ate dinner in their dining room on our first night in Granada and had exceptional food and service. Breakfasts were very good and a great value.

Wonderful hotel with great staff, good restaurant and unique rooms. Location was very convenient to transportation to all areas of the city. Easy walking distance to restaurants.

Room Tip: Ask for a room off the courtyard
