2 converted old buildings- one of them being a former convent with a peaceful courtyard (where you can also eat) in the middle. My room - one of the superior ones-was great- overlooking the courtyard and with beams, nice size, feel and bathroom with good accessories. The hotel is on the main street in the centre and I wonder if the street standard rooms may be a bit noisy tho? Good location, however, and within easy walking distance of most things- even the alhambra if you do not mind walking and ok going uphill for about 20 minutes...
Staff were really helpful on the reception.
Breakfast was adequate- fresh coffee and orange juice nice touches but somehow not quite up to spec for a 5 star hotel. Plenty of places to eat nearby so you do not necessarily need to eat in- including cake shops and patisseries on the same street..and lots of restaurants in the town...
The gym and saunas were not too impressive... and need booking in advance to use.. small and not inspiring so I did not bother using them in the end..
I would recommend this hotel if you can get a decent rate.. also try the amazingly located parador in the alhambra and some of the old character hotels in the centre...
just one word of caution- some pickpockets and drug addicts clearly visible in the centre...
