“Reasonably priced .. OK for a couple of nights”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2011

This hotel is known by two names - Luna Granada and Luna Arabial and it took some wandering around to find the entrance. The helpful receptionist, who spoke reasonably good English, explained that it was "two hotels , but the same", whatever that meant.
The place has a bit of a run down look about it and obviously thrives on tour groups. While we were there, a crowd of American students, who were on a month's stay to learn Spanish, were all over the place, including on the corridor floors.

The rooms were good enough. You had to pay three euros a day and an eighteen euro deposit to use the locker. Internet was free in the lobby.

The breakfast was good but We didn't try the restaurant as there are a number of good restaurants nearby.

If we go to Granada again, we may look for a better place.

“A nice choice in Granada”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 July 2011

We stayed at the Hotel Luna for 1 night while traveling with a large group of high school students. Due to our large group, we were placed on the “apartment” side of the hotel. The rooms were very spacious and included a small kitchenette, table and chairs, bed, and large bathroom. The amount of space would be nice for a small family traveling together. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but the apartment side was separate from the “hotel” side where breakfast and dinner were served. A short walk around the outside of the building lead you to the dining area and access to free wi-fi. While the hotel had a pool, it closed at 8 PM which was a small disappointment to our students.

We found the staff (particularly the wait staff in the dining room) to be exceptionally friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to interact with our students, explaining things about the Spanish food and sights in Granada. Overall, a nice stay on our 10 day tour to Spain. I would happily return here when traveling with my own family.

We just spent the night there (arriving late evening, leaving early morning without breakfast), the hotel was ok, but seeing the low price (only £37), it's value for money.

“Wonderful little hotel for very little money, good location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 June 2010

My friend and I travelled to Granada after going first to Madrid, then Barcelona. We flew into the Granada airport, paid 2 or 3 euro for the bus trip into town, and paid another 5 euro (minus tip) for a taxi to the hotel. We were there way too early to check in, but the front desk staff were incredibly nice and helped us into a room within minutes. They also spoke perfect English (a nice touch in a foreign country, even when you know a little bit of the language) and showed us on a map where to shop, eat, find taxis, see flamenco, etc. She also explained to us that there was a group of college kids staying in the hotel, and that if they caused us any problems, to speak with her directly and she would handle it. She kept her promise when, later, the kids got a little rowdy and started running up and down the halls. She came up and spoke to them, apparantly, and we didn't hear another peep. She must have scared the daylights out of those kids, because it was truly instantaneous and the silence kept throughout our stay.

The pool was a wonderful break from the hot Granada sun, especially after marching around the nearby Alhambra (cheap taxi, cheaper bus - there and back from the hotel). The pool area seemed to have a bee infestation, but they pretty much kept to themselves - just watch where your feet are stepping.

The room was nice enough, nothing special. The beds weren't very comfortable, but the room was so reasonably priced and the service was so friendly that I can't really complain. The bathroom was huge and everything worked properly. It wasn't in the best shape, but again - I can't complain. We didn't choose an 80-euro-a-night hotel expecting it to be the Ritz, and it was still just fine.

Nearby is an El Corte Ingles - a huge supermarket - where we got some groceries and kept them in our room's minifridge, a great way to save some money. Also, just down the street (literally, 2 blocks or so) is a little hole-in-the-wall restaurant that served very stong, tasty, cheap sangria and some of the best Calamari I've ever eaten. Good tapas aren't hard to find in Granada, but this place was spectacular.

All in all, I loved my time in Granada, and could not have asked for a better hotel to serve as our home-base, especially not at that price.

“First class hotel for so little money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 April 2009

We have stayed here twice and you get a lovely hotel with all the facilities you expect in a 4* hotel - a great breakfast, lovely large lounge and bar area, waterwall in the lobby, carparking underground, and a rather boring outdoor pool. The rooms have radio, mini fridge, security boxes, television etc.

It was ideal for us this time as we had a hired car and just drove off the big motorway and straight in. It is a good 10 minute walk into town definately and about that from the train station. And you will need a map because you will feel in the middle of nowhere when you arrive - being on the outskirts. There are buses from 'de ronda' road just above the hotel and these go most places. The bus routes are easily available and are displayed on the bus stops.

We only paid £20 each so what a great find! Cathathowells
