“recommended”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2010

This is a nice hotel, very close to the Alhambra (walking up the stairs). The room was nice and clean but a littel bit noisy (was in the front of the hotel). The owner was nice and helpful without English. We stayed there for 2 nights and recommend it highly. They have a garage near by (costs 14 yuros a day)/

“Great no-frills hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2010

stayed at the Hotel Molinos for 2 nights this month, and couldn't have been more pleased. Now this is not a luxury hotel by any means, but the combination of price, location, and the unexpected friendliness of the owner was a winning combination. I can't remember the owner's name, but he was so nice and helpful with local info and just a pleasure to chat with that he really made the stay more memorable. This is the narrowest hotel in the world supposedly so when you have a family you are put up in the adjacent building, still a tight fit but the AC worked, the bathroom was clean, and the beds were comfy. You are only about a 20 min walk from the Alhambra if you like to hike up hill, and only a 10 min walk from the cathedral and great shopping and restaurants. Granada overall was beautiful with the Alhambra being the highlight and probably deserves 21/2 days 3 nights to fully appreciate but can be done in 11/2 days and 2 nights like we did.

“what a deal!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 May 2010

My mom and I stayed at Molinos for one night after a grueling morning of driving through the mountains and a long afternoon at the Alhambra. Molinos was exactly what the doctor ordered. We had a spacious room overlooking the street with a huge bathroom, AC, there's and elevator in the building too. The staff is friendly and helpful and the hotel is in a great location. On a quiet street but just around the corner from a million great shops and restaurants, walking distance to the Alhambra and to the center city which is tons of fun. The man at the desk even recommended a great place for dinner on Calle Pavaneras where the food was delicious. Later, they gave us great directions for how to get out of the city. If you stay at Molinos, be sure to ask for recommendations and advice, these guys know what they're talking about.

“Nice Hotel for Family of Four with Two Teenagers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 May 2010

We stayed at the Hotel Molinos for two nights. We are a family of four, with a 15 year-old daughter and 12-year-old son. The hotel agreed to our request to squeeze the four of us into one room, with two cots, in order to keep our expenses down. Our room was in the front of the hotel, which is on a somewhat well-traveled road, so it did suffer from some street noise (which continued intermittently late into the night). The other rooms, in the middle and back of the hotel are probably quieter, but they cannot accomodate 4 beds. The hotel is getting a bit long in the tooth, but wasn't run down and things were clean enough, though not sparkling. The location of the hotel is great, straight down the hill from the Alhambra (we walked there). We arrived and departed Granada at the bus station, which is an easy and convenient bus ride to/from the hotel (#3 or #33), though finding the hotel after getting off the bus upon arrival was a bit tricky (ask for the hotel by name or for Calle Molinos - the hotel is on the western end of the road). The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is free WI-FI, though it didn't reach our room. Also, there's a good local restaurant just a couple of doors down from the hotel, where we enjoyed a big midday mean and late night tapas with soccer. We recommend this hotel.

“Interesting small place to stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 April 2010

A very small hotel, 3 rooms on 3 floors. We stayed in a room the middle with a window to a tiny inner court. Small room. Nice bathroom. Wifi - but we could not get it working! Very helpful service at the desk. We payed 14 Euros a day to have our car in a closed garage. You can easily walk round the city or take one of the small buses for 1,20 Euro per trip. The place was central in a small street. Probably some noice, if you have a room to the street.
