Summary : Superb Hotel in an excellent location.

I often find reviews on web-sites (inc. Tripadvisor) very confusing and somewhat frustrating. It's amazing how people can have such differing views on a hotel and the reviews for Saray were no different, ranging from excellent to awful.

This is a genuine 4-star hotel and is very clean, efficient and modern. The staff were very friendly (even at 2am when we arrived!). The room was very nice, well appointed and getting a cot for our baby was no problem (it was already a triple room but it fitted OK).

The WiFi was free and worked OK.

The location was very good indeed, being a 10 min walk to the centre/main shopping area and shops and restaurants lined the whole route. There was also a supermarket only 2 mins walk away from the hotel, as well as a cafe selling the best coffee I have ever tasted 1 min away.

Best of all...the Albaycin area is only 5 mins from the town centre, so 15 mins total from the hotel. We took a taxi for the Alhambra but probably could have walked had I been on my own. It was very cheap at only 5 euros each way.

I hired a car for the whole holiday and to be honest, for all of the 3 days that we were in Granada, it did not need to move.

Negative? We parked in the hotel's underground car park and it cost 16.50 euros per day, which is very expensive (it was free in Cordoba and 13.50/day in Seville). The car park was also very tight and I was afraid of damaging the car (even though the car park was almost empty. I would hate to drive in there when it is even half full).

Overall, a great experience and I would definitely stay there again.

Saray Hotel is a block away to the Convention Center and across a river bridge to shopping mall and stores in an "for pedestrians" side of the town. Night life is very warm for a close to winter time. At 10pm, the area is full of people (families, couples...) walking around. The hotel has a nice small playground, pool, pub (attached, but not included) and concierge. The room is clean with a nice partial view of Sierra Nevada. TV is digital and wireless works. The only problem is the small bathing area for a larger person... but might have other rooms, needed to ask for.

This place excelled in terms of quality and price. Very clean, very comfortable and very good rates! The bed was gorgeous to sleep on, lovely good quality bedding. Some people told us it was really far from the city centre but its actually a 5 min walk to the main street. I would definitely reccommend it. its more of a business hotel, but it had a little bit of granada in the decor.

After a lot of thinking we finally planned to stay in this hotel for a night. The location is a bit far away from the centre. The taxi takes around 4 -4.5 € to get to the centre. The rooms were fine, but the drinks in the mini bar are really expensive. For any soft drink it was 3.5 for a can and for a small bottle of wine it was 8 euros. So i think that was a bit dear. We could see that the hotel was not really very busy so i think they can be a bit considerate for car parking charges. Instead of around 16 euros , i think they should have gone for 10 or 12 euros. The whole parking lot was empty. Next time we might look for some more better options.
