“Nice hotel, can't beat the location, good value (but parking is expensive)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

The hotel is located right next to the Cathedral, on THE main street of Granada, one step away from all the bus stops, including a direct bus to the Alhambra. You have access to dozens and dozens of bars, restaurants and cafés and they are all right around the corner. If you like walking, in approx. 10 minutes you are in the heart of the old town, from where you can walk all the way up to the Alhambra (approx. 30 min. of walking uphill from the hotel) or through the alleys and little squares to the breathtakingly beautiful Mirador (where you have a great panoramic view of Granada and the Alhambra and the Sierra mountains in the background). By bus, you will get to the top on approx. 10 minutes.
As concerns the hotel, the room was clean and so was the bathroom. Maybe the toilet flush was a little too loud, but it seems to be a relatively old hotel, so that is understandable. The breakfast buffet was good. Car parking was a little on the expensive side (17 Eur/day). All in all, the hotel scores good points in all things important: clean, comfortable and perfect location, which is why I gave it four stars, and the location alone accounts for one of them.

“Good base for sightseeing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

As others have said this hotel is in an ideal location close to the centre with many bars and restaurants, and easy access to many of the main attractions. Buses right outside can save a steep climd to the Alhambra or Albacion areas, and provide easy to/from the main bus station, too.

Reception, bar, restaurant and public areas are all well decorated, with helpful staff and buffet style breakfast was plentiful with a good and varied selection.

Rooms are standard enough size in comparison with most budget European hotels, though US visitors may find them small. They bedroom and bathroom were both very clean with fresh towels and bedding. Beds were comfortable and lighting good. The only problem is the decor in the bedroom; some have suggested it has not been decorated for many years but there are actually no signs of wear and tear - it's just a plain horrible colour scheme! The bathroom is bright and fresh - it's just the bedroom which suffers from an interior designer with a migraine!

Although there seemed to be a tour group staying, and a few bars close by, we heard no noise at all from our room. Indeed the whole hotel was quiet and peaceful.

Excellent budget choice if you just need a good base for sightseeing.

Take one of the frequent little minibuses up to the Alhambra and Albacain to save a steep climb.

Turn right on to the main street when you leave the hotel and walk up the street for about 2 mins, you'll arrive at the Cathedral (worth a visit), leading into the Alcaireria - good fun to browse the Morroccan shops then you arrive in some nice squares with cafes and restaurants.

“Would go again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

The hotel is perfectly positioned for walking and having parking is a bonus in Granada. We stayed one night, with friends, and found the hotel quite comfortable. Our rooms faced away from the main road so we had no problems with noise. Breakfast was included in our room price and was a substantial buffet. Parking is available at 17 euros and is accessed by a car lift. The car park is rather tight but the staff were obviously used to it and were very helpful. We didn't know the main road was restricted access so may be expecting a fine in the post!

“Old-styled room...But perfect location!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2011

My parents and I stayed 2 nights at this hotel. It was pretty disappointing, to say the least. The lobby and all common areas of the hotel are beautiful, but once we got to our room it was a shocker. It looked like it hadn't been updated in 50 years and had the tiniest tv I've ever seen. The breakfast was ok, free wifi, but had to pay for the safe. It was very clean and as for the location, we couldn't ask for a better one. That was the best part - we walked to everything. The bus for the Alhambra stops 5 min. away. The staff was friendly, but you did have to pay for parking also.

“Great location, tiny rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2011

When you walk in, like most hotels in Spain, it looks nice. So, we were surprised to see just how SMALL our room was. This was definitely the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in. What I liked about the hotel: the location was awesome, not close enough that you are in the busy areas, but just right. The room was clean, but old. I loved how this hotel had a safe, which we had yet to experience in Spain. The staff was friendly, and helpful with holding our luggage after check out. What I loved the most, was how I accidentally left a valuable item in the room (a piece of jewelry) and as soon as we went down to check out, the maid had called the front desk and told them to tell us to wait! I was very impressed by that. It was literally within 5 minutes of us leaving our room and taking the elevator down to the lobby. I am very thankful for that :)
