“Convenient and comfortable”

We stayed at the hotel in mid November and we were very pleased. The location on Plaza Nueva is most convenient for sightseeing both by foot or public transportation. The buses for Alhambra and Albayzin stop right across the Plaza.
The room was very clean and efficient, though not large. We had a small balcony overlooking the Plaza with beautiful views to Alhambra. There was absolutely no noise at night even though we kept our window open. The beds were comfortable.
The hotel lobby is small but cheery. The front desk personnel is courteous and accommodating, eager to help with anything they can. There is a computer for public use right next to the breakfast room as well as free wi-fi in the rooms.
And the hotel is excellent value for all it offers. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for room facing the Plaza and higher floor, you will absolutely love seeing Alhambra all lit up...

“Absolutely stunning rooms with view of Plaza Nueva and Alhambra”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

This excellent hotel is situated in a lovely sqaure that is the starting point for walks to the Alhambra, aound the Albaicin (get a large scale route map from the Tourist office on the opposite side of the square) and to the lovely Carmen de los Martires gardens to the east of the Alhambra. The splendid cathedral and several lovely churches are nearby (on the way to or from the station), and just behind the hotel is the fascinating Arab quarter and many restaurants. On a road (C/Colcha)just off the other side of the square is an excellent and good-value Japanese restaurant. A front room looking over the square to the Alhambra makes all the difference, and worth twice the proce!!

Room Tip: Get a front room if possible - unless quietness is essential!

“Fine for a night.”

We only stayed here for one night as part of a two week European trip. The hotel is located right in the middle of Plaza Nueva so there are plenty of restaurants and eateries nearby. On arrival the man on reception didn’t appear to speak any English but this wasn’t a problem as I speak a little Spanish (the staff at check-out spoke English). Rooms were clean and a decent size and looked modern. The bus for the Alhambra stops in the square and there is a taxi rank outside the hotel which was convenient for us as we had to catch a bus at 7am the next morning. This hotel is fine for a short stay in Granada and the price is good value.

“Amazing location, clean modern rooms”

We booked a double room and were happy to discover we had been assigned to a room that faced out on Plaza Nueva. The hotel location is perfect, great location for walking and exploring the city. The room had AC, a balcony, a small TV, and a clean bathroom with tub/shower. The room did not have a clock so be sure you bring one! There was a computer on the lower level where you could access the internet. The staff was very friendly. We went to bed early because we were jet lagged, and even though we were right next to the plaza it was very quiet. Excellent value for the price. A great hotel!

“Clean hotel with a great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

Hotel Macia Plaza is in the perfect location. It is right in plaza Neuva. You have a great view of the Alhambra above you from here. The staff was helpful and spoke enough English. The room was a good size and very clean. We didn't have any view though, just the building next door three feet away. The breakfast buffet was decent for about €7. Free WiFi but only in the lobby. I could get a signal from the room but it was weak and slow. The shower in our room was not very warm. At night it was almost as if they turned the hot water off.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the plaza, our view was of the building next door.
