“Good value for Granada but nothing too special”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

This hotel has comfortable rooms and comfortable beds with memory foam mattresses. Shower water pressure is great, but the usual half way-glass wall barrier issue which we have had with so many European hotel tub/showers leads to all the water ending up on the bathroom floor , There isn’t anything striking or special here, but there are no major negatives either. Everything is clean and at the level you would expect from a typical 3 star in Europe. The desk staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is right on the main tapas hopping street, and for this reason alone I would likely select a different hotel were I to be in Granada again. Too many people are constantly drinking, smoking, spilling out of the tapas bars that line the narrow streets. Having said this, sound insulation is fantastic with the windows they use. Breakfast was fine as well, with the usual selections found in Spanish hotels and dismal coffee. The elevator is TINY for a hotel of this size, and no more than three people can fit into it comfortably. None of these points are major negatives, and I would recommend the hotel as a good value for the money you pay.

As an aside in our experience Granada was rather abysmal for food, compared to the rest of Spain. Not enough restaurants, and extremely pool quality tapas in one too many a place. But still a lovely town.

“Great hotel in off season!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

Went to Granada at the end of November, and this was a great hotel! I got the room for like 68 dollars a night and it came with breakfast. Breakfast was awesome and had a ton of variety. The hotel is right in the middle of the city and very close to the cathedral and the tourist shopping area. The hotel is about a 5-6 block walk to the bottom of the mountain that the Alhambra is on. Bring your jogging shoes!

“Excellent value for money!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

This hotel was a very nice surprise on our Spain trip. We didn't really know what to expect - you can only tell so much from pictures. The price per night was not very high so we thought we would only get the basic minimum.

Upon our arrival (at 9am) we were greeted quite warmly by the reception staff who also informed us that our room wasn't ready yet. We went for a walk in the city and were very pleased to discover that not only the hotel is found on a very charming pedestrian street lined with restaurants but also that it is quite close to all the action - Plaza Nueva, Puerta Real and the bus to the Alhambra.

When we returned our room was ready and was a very nice double room with a view onto the street. Very clean comfortable and a more than adequate washroom. There were some English entertainment channels on TV which doesn't seem to be the norm in 3 star hotels. There is a very warm and cosy feeling to the whole hotel.

Wi-Fi was provided free of charge and worked without problems.

Breakfast was also adequate and some hot food is provided (scrambled eggs and bacon).

Many services were (unexpectedly) provided free of charge like iron and ironing table, safe in the room and tea/coffee in the lounge downstairs (which also serves as a gaming/reading/meeting room). The lounge also has many books and games that you can borrow free of charge.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful with all the queries we had.

Overall this hotel was the best value for money hotel we stayed in during our Spain trip. We would definitely go back to that hotel and highly recommend it to anyone looking for cheap but comfortable accommodation.

“Great hotel for Location & Value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2011

This hotel is within walking distance of the main shopping & tourist plaza where you can catch a bus to the Alhambra. Many restaurants are located on the street by the hotel. This hotel was bright, clean & comfortable for the value paid. The hotel staff spoke very good English & were wonderful in helping us with directions to tourist areas around town. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Granada to visit the Alhambra and nearby tourist attractions. If you are unfamiliar with the area, take a taxi to the hotel because it is somewhat difficult to find the first time. The taxi fare from the bus station to the hotel is about 6 to 7 Euro's

“A Good Choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2011

The hotel was in a good location within walking distance of all the main tourist sites in Granada, with the exception of the Alhambra. When we were looking at the location prior to booking we thought that it would be walkable to the Alhambra, but realistically it is not due to the climb. We found the local bus (nearest stop about 5 mins walk from the hotel) a very good and cheap means of getting to the Alhambra, thus conserving our energy for walking around that large site.
Our room faced the pedestrian only street and although there were lively bars and restaurants we did not find our sleep affected with windows closed. The room was fairly small but well-decorated, clean, comfortable and good for our needs.
Car parking is at the sister hotel about 10 mins walk away. We did not find this a problem as staff took and brought back the car when we wanted it, or we walked if that suited our journey.
Breakfast was buffet with plenty of choice, the only downside being we probably ate more than we should have!
Our only ‘moan’ and a very small one was that use of the hotel computer was charged for. To be honest it was not expensive but we used the free computers at the City Tourist Office which we passed everyday anyway.
Hotel staff were all helpful and friendly, and we enjoyed our stay.
