“Business Hotel with nice cafe”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 November 2010

Granada center offers clean and comfortable rooms for business people. The bathroom is fairly spacious and has a large mirror, we liked it. The bed mattress war rather hard and we could hear our neighbours.
The concierge parks your car in the underground parking for 15€ a day and is always at your hand when you need him. The small cafe on ground floor serves good coffee and small snacks. The city and Alhambra are about 1-2km away.

“Mediocre”

I booked a Junior suite for a 4 nigjht stay for myself and my wife at Euro 229 per night. The suite was large with a Jacuzzi in the barhroom. The furnishings were reasonable although unusually in a 4 star hotel there was no box of tissues, just a small pack of tissues such as might be carried in a handbag. The housekeeping was a bit hit and miss, toiletries not always replaced, etc. The reception staff were very pleasant. The major issue I have with this hotel, echoed in another guess complaint related to the heating/air conditioning system. Airconditioning is turned off on I Oct so the system then functions in heating mode. Unfortunately, the heating cannot be turned off and continously pumps a low level of warm air into the room with the result that the room became incredibly warm during the night. Because we had a suite with separate very big windows in the bathroom we were able to control the temperature up to a point by opening the bathroom windows fully and leaving the bathroom door open as well. This would not be feasible in a regular room, particularly if raining. I would say the hotel is early 1980s with an airconditioning system to match. It's about a 15 minute walk to the city centre and about 40 minutes ot the Alhambra. A new tramway is being built at present outside the hotel so there is the possibility of noise in the front of the hotel. Good internet connection.

“Very nice and affordable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 April 2010

Originally I wanted to stay in a hostel to save money but was convinced by my boyfriend (and it took quite some time and effort on his part) to stay in a hotel instead. Not only was the price relatively the same, but the hotel was obviously WAY better than any hostel. Our stay was great, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the staff was very helpful. We were there during Semana Santa (Easter week) which is a very busy and popular time to vacation in Granada and tickets to the Alhambra were sold out but the staff was very helpful in arranging for us to go on a private group tour in English instead, which worked out better in the end. Overall we had a great experience and I would highly recommend this hotel, especially to those people traveling on a budget and considering staying in a hostel.

“Close to the University”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2010

The Good: The room was clean and elegant. The window/patio looked onto the main road and park with views of suburban Granada). The restaurant was very good for breakfast (16 Euros, pack it in and skip lunch), and the cafeteria was comfortable for a nightcap. There is so much around the hotel, no need to eat lunch or dinner there. You can save by dining outside the hotel. Secure parking (for a price) and a car rental agency are on site. The staff is professional, and cheerfully took care of an urgent special request. We stayed here for a conference and as a jumping off point for a tour of Andalucía. We were satisfied enough to return for the night before our departing flight.

The Bad: The heat/AC was not good. The system is either heat or AC depending on the season. It was unseasonably warm when we went, and the AC had already been turned off for the year, so we had to open the window. I was woken several times in the night by cars and loud pedestrians (we were on the top floor). With the window closed the room was quiet. TV was international with Italian, Spanish, German, and English programming.

“Pessimo servizio”

No way to print out my boarding card for next day flight. The business center has no printer !!!! I was asked to send an e-amail to the reception with boarding card attached. They never received oit si I was forced to be at the airport two ahours before to check-in. No shuttle service to the airport. The water I drunk from the mini-bar was not replenished so next night I had no water. The shower draining was blocked and bathroom was flooded !! Spent 30 minutes to dry the floor.
I remind you that we are talking about a 4 Stars Superior hotel !! I`ll never suggest this hotel to anybody. Can you imagine how it will be in high season ???
Regards
Captain Giuseppe Bertolino
