“THE BEST VIEWS OF GRANADA FROM A HOTEL”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

The Hotel is a top notch Hotel desk Staff are very Friendly and helpful. Its proximity to the Palace is good a quick walk up the Hill. Taxies are available to get you into the centre of town but a Walk down the hill and you are there in under 10 minutes although coming back up is a little longer. This Hotel is about 30 mins walk from the Piatzza St Nicholas which is a must for the Sun set, there are busses to get you there from outside the Hotel. There is a terrace bar to watch the sunset and in the mornings the sun rise from the room was fantastic. The waiters were Friendly although forgetfull, and needed reminding about the orders, not what you would expect at this star, if you want things make sure your request goes to one of the female waitresses they are more reliable.

“Top notch in every way...an excellent place!”

We read the reviews and booked this place. Wow, were we glad we did. This is a premier hotel in an excellent location, up on a hill overlooking Granada. it is an easy 5-10 minute walk down the hill to the Alhambra. There is a beautiful terrace to sit out on while eating and enjoy an amazing view! and the view from our room which was a few floors above the terrace was obviously spectacular as well. We loved our stay here and would definitely stay here again

“Take care of your belongings here”

Had a three day stay here recently, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel is ideally situated for visiting the Alhambra Palace, and the shuttle buses outside the hotel make the rest of the city easily accessible.

Unfortunately the experience was marred by the discovery, on the morning we left, that a plastic bag containing my English loose change was missing. As it was only a few pounds I didn't bother mentioning it. Later, when unpacking at home, I discovered another plastic bag containing two necklaces was also missing. Again they were of no great value, although one had sentimental value, otherwise I'd have put them in a safe, but still pretty annoying.

What is even more annoying is that I have informed the hotel of these losses, both by email and letter and had no ackowledgement at all.

The moral is, of course, don't leave anything lying around!

PS - watch out for the hot trolley at the breakfast buffet - the wheels don't seem to have brakes, and I found myself on the move whilst reaching over for eggs.

“Ideal Location..Beautiful View..Amazing Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

I stayed here recently on a short trip to Granada and must say I was very impressed. The hotel itself is beautiful with an unmatched view of the city. The Alhambra is within walking distance of the hotel and the staff helped book a tour for us on very short notice. The buffet breakfast in the morning was excellent and had a large selection of fruits, freshly squeezed juices, cheese, cured meats, baked goods, and eggs. Highly recommend at some point during your stay a drink or coffee on the back terrace. The staff was extremely accommodating and nice. We had an issue with the satellite TV in the room and when they tried to fix and were unsuccessful no questions asked put us into another room right away.

**Small tip Bus 30 and 32 stop right outside the hotel and they runs every few minutes, Bus 32 is a great way to tour the city and it's only 1.20 eur, and eventually with drop you off in the center of the city.**

I disagree with the other reviews that say the rooms are a "bit tired". You are in a hotel that was built over 100 years ago in a very old city, the rooms are perfect for exactly that, and all the other perks of the hotel (terrace, breakfast, location, view, lobby, staff, etc...) outweigh the "tired rooms".

Overall when I come back to Granada this will be my spot.

“Good Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

Patio was very nice, with great view of city. Service was good. Rooms are a bit tired looking especially the ones with the off white coverlets. Location was great for the Palace, but too pricey. Did the hop on/hop off bus tour which was very good. Hard to find.

Room Tip: Get tickets to the Alhambra Palace before or you will have to get up early and wait in line. They o...
