I've been reluctant to write a negative review about this Hostal just because the owner and his employee seemed nice, and the location was quite good. We stayed for 2 nights with my Mom. Of the six hotels/hostals we stayed at in our trip around Spain, this one is the only one we'll never ever want to return to. The room: the tiniest ever, even by Hostal standards- I mean not even a square meter spared for moving around, just enough space to open the door and get in bed. But the worst was the noise at night... a big assortment of it: old crackling water pipes, other guests going about their business in bathrooms and beds, the doorbell at midnight! or was it 5 am? the phone downstairs at the front desk and the ensuing conversation, the doorbell again at 2 am, morepipesmorephone ringing and nobody picking it up. Noise drove us crazy the first night, gave the place a second chance the second night with no luck, then it was time to leave thankgoodness. I understand the building is a historic landmark in Granada thus preserved with minimal changes, but I don't think it is suited at all for lodging, unless you're indifferent about room size and able to sleep even through an earthquake.
