“Rude staff!”

I went to this hotel in September it was a late deal so I didn't expect alot which was good because it was average to poor. We left the hotel at around 9 in the morning and would return around 7 in the evening. One evening we returned to find our room door wide open, the room had been cleaned so a member of staff left the door open. Regardless of us having a safe we had other valuable items that could have been stolen. I went to the reception to let them know, expecting a simple apologie. I explained to the guy that we had been out all day etc he replied "yes" so I thought he hasn't understood me so I repeated the story his reply was "yea what do you want me to do about it?" I said "an apologie would be great and to let the cleaner know so it doesn't happen again." He replied "ok bye". I'm not embarrasd to say it was my last night so I gave him a piece of my mind very loudly!
What concerned me the most was he never even asked if we had items missing!

“those who want a swimming pool, animation, and luxurious accommodation - you will no bet here”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

I must say - those who want a swimming pool, animation, and luxurious accommodation - you will no bet here ((
Here, as the saying goes, poor but neatly))
For us this hotel was perfect on several points:
- A very convenient location in the heart of the city
- Nearby - shops (I strongly advise supermarket Mercadona, in it we bought food, when not wanted to spend money on coffee)
- 3 minutes - bus stop, where you can get to almost anywhere in Andalusia.
- 10 minutes from the sea the beautiful, narrow shopping streets, you can even buy name brand items for pennies.
Staff very friendly, always ready, prompt. Well spoken in English.
Among the shortcomings - we lived in a room without a balcony at first worried and then used. The fourth floor has a great terrace with free wi-fi, give the password at the reception.
Yet there was no refrigerator, so it's upsetting us, even you can not buy yogurt in the evening ...
We did not take power, as it turned out - for good reason. Everyone who was at the hotel complained about the meager breakfast and lunch. Although there was someone very happy.
Overall impression - were very pleased with Spain, traveled to Andalusia, talked with the Spaniards, got a lot of impressions.

“my experience at kristal”

me and my husband stayed at hotel kristal for 5 nights the room was of decent size but we got a room with two double beds and when pushed together were not comfortable and being a couple married we would have expected a double bed , the hotel staff were very pleasant and welcoming and delt with our enquiries well, the restaraunt was large, clean and nice decor and friendly staff again, breckfast is continental cold meats and cheese and a selection or cereals and breads and toaster machine , all condesents to put on toast too, fresh milk and coffe tea and orange juice , the hotel is just 1-2 mins walk from train station and all amenities and the rates were very good and rooms kept very clean , i would recommend hotel kristal to stay everything is at your door step and a short 10 min walk to beach down hill and a nice 25 min walk up the hill again a very pleasant walk ,

Room Tip: ask if you want a double bed if your a couple as two singles together is worse than squeezing on to...

“Excellent service, perfect location and cheap price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

We arrived at the Kristal Hotel on 12/10/2011 and checked out on 19/10/2011, we were early for check in however there was no problem checking us in at 11am, this was great for us as we had been up from 2.30am to catch our flight from Belfast. We were lucky to have a room with a balcony with table and chairs, it overlooked the street but quite quiet at night. The hotel is dated but very clean, we were 1/2 board, the food was very basic (as in most hotels in Spain) but you get enough to keep you from going hungry, the air conditioner is excellent. The beer is cheap in the hotel £1.50 for a bottle of San Migel much cheaper than other places. The major plus for this hotel is the staff, they will do anything for you, nothing is to much trouble, the people at the desk speak perfect english. The location of this hotel is perfect, walk out the main entrance, turn right, walk a few metres and down 6 steps (also a ramp) and you are in the main square, with shops, bars, the train station etc. If you turn left at the steps and take the next right then next left and walk a few meters to the fruit market and take a right there you are at the lift to the beach which charges you 50 cents each to go down and 50 cents up. This saves you from walking down a steep set of steps, to get to the steps you take a left at the steps into the square and next right and straight down to the end. I would not recommend the trips, we went on one to Gibraltar, we got on the Coach at 8am and by the time they went around all the other hotels we still had not left Torremolinos one and half hours later, it took us three and half hours to get to Gibraltar, we had to walk from the coach park to the center of Gib and it is quite a walk, no taxis and this would be hard for anyone with difficulty walking, a long day and 3 hours back. I have been to Gib many times and it is really fantastic but this trip was awful. I recommend that you take a public bus which you can get from the main road, to get to the road you take a left from the entrance of the hotel and a few metres you are on the road, check the bus timings, public transport is very cheap. If you are feeling like some home cooked English food I would recommend the Merry Friar, it is run by a British couple, to get to it take a right at the steps on the square and walk nearly as far as the fountain (not far) on your left between a resturant and shop you will see an orange sign with Merry Friar, watch out for this because they cannot advertise on the square, walk down the entry beside the sign and you will see the Merry Friar, they cook fish and chigs, mash and pie which is home made, full breakfasts etc. It is years since I have tasted fish like they cooked, it was beautiful, hubby had the pie which was home made and delicious, the price is less than you would pay at home. All in all this was a really easy great holiday, the beach in Torremolinos, is beautiful and the hotel was perfect. I would recommend this hotel we had a great time.

“well positioned,basic hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

having read previous reviews,i must agree with the comments.this very well positioned<slap bang in the non beach centre of town>,basic hotel gave me a spacious, clean room.i took the room only advice of previous reviewer and having inspected breakfast and dinner options would have been disappointed.other guests seemed satisfied.there are a myriad of bars/tapas/cafes etc all around.for what i wanted,a central place to sleep close to transport/entertainment,i was completely satisfied
