I only stayed in one room the night before our wedding which we had on the beachinfront of the hotel and then the meal and disco in the resteraunt. My room had a stunning view of the sea and the bed was very comfortable the only down side was that the air con needed to be fixed so my room was a little stuffy for part of my stay. At breakfast the cooked selection wasn't amazing but I had some nice pastries and coffee (to be honnest I was too nervous to eat so I'm probably not the best person to review the food). The staff couldn't do enough for us during the wedding and the barman Fernando is a little legend he stayed up with us until around 3.30am when we decide we were all discoed out. All the waiting staff were great with the guest and I would strongly recommend the Tropicana for anyone who wants a beach wedding. The Mango was a great place for our wedding breakfast and the disco area underneath is perfect we could party all night and not disturb the other guests due to it's location.

I recently stayed at hotel tropicana and was pleasently suprised by how nice and convienient the hotel was. The location could not have been any better right on the beach front and the staff were all very helpful, we had a nice sea view and the room was very clean and tidy (cleaned every day).
The food was good buffet breakfast to cater all taste and overall was great value for money.
On arrival our room was avalible instantly and on departure they looked after our luggage for the day as we had a late flight. Overall if you are looking for a very good hotel which is affordable and has a great locaton this would be it. I feel sure that i will stay here again .

we stayed in side sea view room and you couldn't fault the room cleaning it was cleaned every day, nice big towels and fresh sheets, plenty of toiletries and good wardrobe space. Glad there was a small fridge you needed it and you definately needed the air con and fan!
Nice view which we paid extra for wouldn't have wanted a lower floor in a standard room. Our balcony was too hot to sit on in the afternoon a brolly would have been good.
Pool area was clean and not too busy, they could do with new loungers they were a bit worn. We took towels but you could hire them from the hotel to save on luggage weight.
we had bed and breakfast and there was plenty of choice if a bit slow in replentishing stocks it was on from 8.30 to 10.30.
We didn't eat in the Mango allthough it looked nice. The beach bar was dissapointing as the staff were quite unfriendly and the prices were amongst the highest on the beach so we didn't use this one which was a shame. All in all glad we picked this place on our second stay in this part of Torremolinos

I recently visited Hotel Tropicana with friends. We opted for self-catering accommodation because it was cheaper and we suspected that we may have sporadic eating times (we went for the night-life). There were positive and negative aspects to the Hotel although we were pleased with our stay on the whole;

1. On arrival, hotel staff were extremely helpful and answered all of of our questions. This was continued throughout the week when we needed questions answered about the local area.
2. Although our room was definitely not 4*, it was clean and spacious enough for four people. It was basic but catered for all of our needs.
3. The location for the beach is fantastic. For the night-life, you have to walk for 20 or so minutes to Benalmadena. There is a Mercadona just around the corner, which is very cheap and provides all the groceries you could need.
4. The pool is lovely and clean and usually quiet.
5. The taxi sent by the Hotel was a Mercedes, a nice surprise after the cramped flight!
6. Cleaning is only every 3 days, so the floor gets a bit dirty, but a thorough job was carried out.
7. The self catering accommodation is in a different building to the main hotel but is still secure as the front door requires a key.
8. You must visit the pizzeria on the corner of the road joining to the hotel's road. They are made in front of you and are delicious. The best pizza I have ever tasted!

A finishing note; we were expecting 4*, but we were naive. You cannot expect a four star hotel for the little amount of money paid. Bare this in mind and check with the hotel BEFORE you book.

Would recommend for those not looking for anything too fancy (although no idea what the rooms in the actual hotel are like)!
