We (husband and I) stayed at this hotel for 5 nights 12 January 2009. I booked through www.xscapewithus.com and it was cheaper than booking direct with the hotel.
Our room on the third floor was very nice, sea view, twin beds to form a double, hot powerful shower, in room safe (free and easy to use), plenty of wardrobe hanging and drawers, carpeted floor in bedroom. It was chilly of an evening so we did need to use the heating/ air con system which worked well.
The food was lovely and if anyone could not find something from the mountains of choices available I would be surprised. The chef was available and cooked eggs to order at breakfast and fish and meats in the evening.
Business men and women were in evidence at breakfast, suited and ready to leave for the office. We also saw pilots and cabin crew entering and leaving the hotel, I presume they were using room service which was much in evidence.
There was a huge lounge area off the dining room with a great cocktail bar, a duo played discreetly on an evening though there were only a handful of people sitting around. We drank in the cafe area at the front of the hotel, it was no dearer that some of the bars around and we had free nuts and olives, this is also open to non patrons and had a nice atmosphere.
The hotel is very large and it was hard to tell how many people were staying there, we saw no one at all apart from the receptionist on checking in. This is not a family holiday type of hotel in fact we saw no children nor would there be anything to interest them apart from the indoor pool. Certainly at this time of the year the leisure customers were elderly. It suited us fine as we had no children with us to entertain and we wanted a nice quiet restful time after a busy Christmas.
We caught the train (1.20 euro each ) from the airport to Torremolinos and walked through the town and used the lift (.50euro each) to get down to the sea front (only a few steps) the hotel is only a short walk. We did get a taxi back to the airport (18 euros) I wouldn't fancy doing the walk to the station in the opposite direction!
