“the best boutique hotel we ever stayed at”

Initially I was a little woried about the location, although we wanted to stay in the oldtown, but i was afraid it would be confusing. Once we found a parking spot which is usually not easy because of the location, we were breathless from the first step in to the hotel.
Stone entrance, with a sweet citrus burning, drawing you in. Instantly the place felt familiar. the calmness of one's own home.

We were greated by Desiree who had already established a connection with us through email. she sent us pics of the rooms, and gave us a choice, she was also accomodating to our preferences, and sent us directions with good tips.
Desiree, wais a large part of our amazing experience. we felt the place was her's only to discover its her brothers, close enough. she was warm, welcoming and very helpful and genuine. she led us to our room which was through the courtyard, and up the stairs. it was beautiful. the provenzal room, our choice, was cute, small (although she gave us a choice of a bigger room) and very stylish. We learnt that Desiree's sister in law was the creativity behind the decor. An excellent job.
There was minimal noise although the hotell is small with some 7 or 8 rooms, but there is so much privacy that i went out with my bathrobe a couple of times to the tea and coffee facility set up on the same floor.
The breakfast is up on the roof, taking you back to a scene of A Room with a View, multiple rooftops fill the horizon with the glimpse of the sea in the background, the birds fill the air, and the beautiful church just across the street stands great in framing the perfect view. we had planned to have breakfast outside but were too seduced by the morning scene in hotel claude.
I had been to marbella manytimes visiting family who have a summer home here, this is the first time i fell in love with it, thanks to hotel claude, if i come again, staying there would be a big reason to be persuaded to go back.
leaving felt a little bit sad, and saying goodbye to Desiree was saying farewell to a friend, all heart felt.

p.s. getting in to bead was heaven! amazing sheets, we wanted to ask where they bought them but forgot.

“Lovely stay, would gladly return”

Very nice small hotel combining the advantages of a hotel with the service and friendliness of the perfect B&B. Very well situated in surprisingly - to us anyway - attractive old town of Marbella. Close to restuarants etc, and convenient to the bus station if you wish to venture further withour driving. We had a very enjoyable stay of four nights.

Room Tip: If there is an upgrade available it will be given.

“an exceptional welcome, in elegant surroundings...”

We have only just returned from the Hotel Claude, in Marbella - and we really have had the most lovely time. The owners are all charming, and nothing is too much trouble for them, to make your stay special...it is not like a hotel in fact, it was so much more - we really felt like we were incredibly welcome guests, staying in a family home.
We loved it.
And Old Town Marbella is charming, even if Puerto Banus is not.
We saw authentic Flamenco dancing, and have eaten in lovely restaurants, and met some lovely people along the way. And today, with an extremely elongated check out time, we have had the pleasure of whiling away the day on the roof terrace, in the sun, reading. Magnificent.
Do go - if you want to feel extra special.

“Subtle Luxury from extra helpful staff in lovely location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 March 2011

We loved this interesting & historical hotel which is ideally situated within walking distance of lots of restaurants, bars and shops in the quaint Old Town yet is very quiet so you get a good nights sleep! The room (Oriental) was wonderfully large with extra comforts eg ipod docking etc and the cleanest I've stayed in. The breakfast menu was perfect; the freshest continental style plus eggs anyway you like and was served on the small but well thought out roof terrace. The staff were extremely helpful; Desiree greeted us in style with a glass of cava and organised our taxi transfer from airport as well as booking tables at restaurants - all done with a smile too! We wanted a quiet short break out of UK but not too far, staying in affordable luxury boutique hotel and ability to walk to good restaurants in pretty location - Hotel Claude delivered on all aspects and we even had warm sunshine in March!

“Immaculate service in a classy Marbella oasis”

We arrived to a very friendly welcome from Desiree. That welcome continued through the service we received through the whole stay - quite simply the hotel team could not do enough for us - from booking restaurants, to breakfast literally served whenever we wanted it, tending to the odd medical emergency, and just always being available with a friendly smile and quick unobtrusive chat about life. This is a family run hotel which has a very chic feel. We stayed in the Francesca room which contained one of the largest and most comfortable beds we have ever stayed in. Despite being at the front of the house, we were able to lock ourselves away from the world and overslept on more than one occassion.
This hotel was recommended to us through Mr and Mrs Smith, so we were confident we'd get a cool, boutique hotel. What we didn't expect was such a warmth and hospitality throughout the stay. Thoroughly recommend it.
