We booked in at the Gran Hotel Guadalpin Banus solely because of the Jacuzzi in the junior suites. Even though we were just the two of us on honeymoon, we took the option to pay more for this. Unfortunately, the Jacuzzi was operating at approx 20-25 degrees centigrade, which is way too cold for a jacuzzi! When we asked how to get the temperature up, we were told that there isn't a way and the Jacuzzi was designed for summer use only.
Firstly, most Jacuzzi operate at 40 degrees centigrade, which is warm! Next, we should have been warned that the Jacuzzi was unusable in winter. On our insistence, we were downgraded to a cheaper room. However, this was not the end of our problems.
The heater in the room did not work.
We were not brought in any toiletries.
We were not given room slippers until we asked for it.
The place was falling apart.
We felt like everything needed the reception to be called and arranged for.
Also, instead of being compensated for the cold Jacuzzi, we were charged for the first night in the junior suite.
All in all, it was not a pleasant environment and given we were 1 out of practically 5 guests in the whole hotel, it was an unacceptable level of service.
